I wouldn't even bring a laptop INTO a cafe, nevermind outside.

I passed a couple yesterday. They were sitting outside a cafe. She had a laptop open. He had what looked like a $2-3000 SLR camera sitting up on the table while he was burrowing through his backpack under the table. There was also an iPhone up on the table somewhere.

it's like seeing somebody driving with an unrestrained child in the front seat. You want to shake them and say "do you have any concept of what you are doing??"

I saw a family of six on a scooter in Greece once. Still don't know how they did it. I think the father must have been a retired circus performer

Its pretty common across Asia.

I've seen people changing tyres in the middle of the motorway. Beggars belief....

Anyways, not much you can do about random acts of violence and robbery, not worth worrying about but its always a good idea to keep valuables out of sight and out of grasp.

Another tip: if you see water comming from under your door, it may be a trick for you to open the door to investigate; the same is true if you see smoke. Call 911 and the manager.
