Some of my favourite Argentine expressions

Quite so. Como no is wonderful. As is 'no hay de que', but not often used here.
And when we say gracias, which is followed by ...'por favor....' Which I just love.
Or when being attended to at a small mini mart (not chinese) or whatever and being referred to as caballero. That's something special too.
And 'permiso'. I do chuckle at this.
We've been showing our house to a lot of people recently and if I had a penny for the amount of times I hear 'permiso'.
Argentines have an old fashioned sense of courtesy, which is sadly lacking in many other places.
As fifs2 says, here it's genuine and I embrace it.
 
Will pick up a copy when next in Kel, which is a wonderful refuge of peace and many lovely books.
