A 130 hectares city park and open space taken over by squatters in Argentina’s capital Buenos Aires, the scene in recent days of violent incidents in which at least four people were killed and scores injured, was calm on Sunday following on the arrival of security forces sent by the federal government.

I've been out of town. Has this been a big story in the local papers?

There is already a long thread in the forum on this topic with some excellent first hand accounts. Search for Villa Soldati to find it.

Has it been a big story? You bet! Right now there's another 2 or 3 'tomas' going on in other parts of the city...this is not typical news month...these events could be the start of some very serious changes. The Federal Government (Christina's Mob) has not responded yet.

Well, these most recent ones are outside of Capital, so now the federal govt can no longer throw up their hands and say that this is just a problem of the City Govt to sort out. Nice going by both City and Federal govts -- this is going to open up the most ridiculous can of worms.

I guess Mercopress doesn't use spell-check. Their headline contains a glaring spelling error.
