Hi all - as usual I am here asking a dumb question 
I've finally got my laptop problems sorted - windoze is gone and I have a real operating system now However, one worrying little problem that I didn't have before with windoze I am having now with Linux - the laptop doesn't like to be told to ''automatically detect proxy server'' and I am wondering if I can just use the ''connect direct to the internet option" (assuming they have a transparent proxy working now or whatever - and NOT worry about my landlord getting a million dollar data charges type of bill at the end of the month ??? Anyone else out there using Fibertel at the moment - if you could let me know what you are using for your proxy server settings in your web browser that would be great Many thanks in advance...
