The Best Reason Now To Be An Expat In Argentina...

IF you are from the USA...

You will not be SUBJECT to Obamacare...which may soon may make Argentina look like a beacon of freedom.

(Even thought it isn't.)

Obamacare ("you get to keep your doctor and your plan") was DESIGNED to fail so complete control (totalitarianism) can be implemented.

If anyone thinks I am mudslinging, you haven't seen anything yet!

Sorry Steve, I think you got lost on your way to Red State. I'm more than happy to point you in the proper direction: ---> http://www.redstate.com/

Now, I'm not sure if I'm falling for bait from a troll or if you are so filled with hate for Obama (a man I don't like because I'm a socialist, and he isn't) that it blinds you to the fact that Argentina has universal healthcare (medicare for all) and are therefore oblivious and stupid. This is the system we should have in the United States, and should Obamacare fail (something that can't be determined as it's not even 2014 yet) the silver lining is that the next step will be universal health care via medicare which is something my dreams are made of.

Now, tale what I say with a grain of salt as I'm sure you believe I am, and the millions like me are just a bunch of walking parasites to your wealth (takers, not makers/47% right?) since we have preexisting conditions (yet work full time jobs and still don't make ends meet, but try none the less) but the types of laws the ACA implements, and the systems of state medicare like Argentina's makes sure that we don't all drop dead just because we're not wealthy and have diseases/illnesses that we had no choice in having.

I realize it is an affront to your quality of life that I, a mere pleb, deserve to have my illnesses treated thanks to my/yours/all of us BA Expats' taxes so I would like to take this time to thank you for being such an excellent human being by creating wealth/jobs/working so hard to acquire all the hard earned money you have and apologize also for being forced by the state (with threat of jail) to give part of your earnings to my wellbeing.

I am also sorry I have illnesses, conditions, and get sick. I should have chose to be have healthy genes and a stellar immune system, and I really should work 90 hours a week instead of 45 to afford my medications and treatments.

As a passive right, yes. No one can deny or prevent you from seeking care.
As an active right, no. No one should be forced or required to pay for your healthcare.

The US Constitution and the Bill of Rights is based on the principle of PASSIVE rights. The French revolution and its offsprings, like the Bolsheviks, the Nazis, the Fascists and the Maoists believe in active rights.

Exactly correct and is the source of many WTF? moments by expats in Argentina.

In the US you have the right to own a house. That means you can work an extra job, get a degree at night, save your dollars and then buy a house.

In Argentina you have the right to own a house. That means someone owes you a house.

When basic health care is un-affordable for many working people then we know the system is broken. However, I seriously doubt the solution will be anything my government thinks up.

You do realize it's not that simple and things aren't often black or white? I don't know how you can have such high hopes for universal healthcare. That will not happen unless they get rid of the lobbyists for big pharma and insurance companies. You want the govt to take on more debt to pay for universal healthcare?? the way it is now... 17 trillion will be only a small fraction of what you would see. Get rid of the parasites in the system that make the costs skyrocket. For crying out loud, enough with fixing the symptoms and not the underlying causes.

For life this is true yes, but for health care it isn't. I don't need high hopes because I base my expectations on experiences with universal healthcare in Argentina and Canada when I lived there. I agree, we need to get rid of the insurance companies and pharma companies too, but you can't do that with a for-profit or mixed system. Let's remember, a good portion of 17 trillion is from putting 2 wars on a credit card, because killing the God knows how many hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis, Afghanis, and Pakistanis is more important than ensuring kids with cancer can get treatment. But hey, I guess I'm just an America hatting commie. Quick, start shouting GOD BLESS AMERICA, WE'RE NUMBER 1! USA, USA, USA! and waving mini Star Spangled Banners around to block out the sound of our nations poor, working poor, and suffering. It's not like they're people or anything.

I don't feel like killing those innocents was OK at all. I feel for all those people just the way you do. My only problem is that more often than not the left (America's so called left at least) is more about feel good solutions that have no substance and mostly have no chances of making things better.

And you a bastion of intelligence and foresight , Supporting dictators with ridiculous remarks .

Please tell me you're not stating or implying Obama is a dictator. I don't like most of his policies and ideas either but the man was democratically elected twice, or is he dictatorial if you don't agree with his policies?

Use the term dictator conservatively, most people alive in Argentina actually know what a real dictatorship is, a CIA backed one none the less.

Honestly, I think a universal health care system would have made a lot more sense than Obamacare. It seems like a big mess to me. I think those that will be hurt worse by it are the middle class as they will have to pay a whole lot more to support those who have bad health. The issue of health care is tricky. On the one hand, so many people in the U.S. have such terrible health because they eat crap and don't take care of themselves. The middle class should not be forced to pay for this kind of person's health care. On the other hand, you hate to see people who can't get access to healthcare when they really need it, because they can't afford it. And you should never force people to pay for something they might not want or need. Everyone on this forum acts like there is a simple solution, but I am extremely skeptical that it is so simple.

Root of the problem? Think we have to look in the mirror. From a commentary:

"Americans reach for a drug for any and everything – for problems real and imagined. It’s why we consume more pills than any nation on earth and why TV ads are relentlessly selling us Xarelto, Abilify, Stelara, Prodaxa, and dozens of other drugs we never ever guessed we supposedly needed.
Americans are only about five percent of the world’s population yet we take 80% of the world’s painkillers and a whopping 99% of the world’s Vicodin. We have four million kids on Ritalin, 22-million women on antidepressants, over 30-million adults on sleeping pills, 32 million on Statins, 45 million on another drug I can’t even begin to pronounce. The list goes on and on."
