That part of the story intrigues me. He arrives in Israeli heralded as the Jew who suffered at the hands of the brutal Argentine Military government, then when he starts writing that the State of Israel is a disappointment he becomes an outcast. That's the story that I imagined would be hard to get financing for a film.

As for Timerman Senior, he became a cause celebre of sorts after he was imprisoned and tortured here. As has been noted here, he went on to live in the US and Israel, where he penned his memoir. The problem with him is that - though I know little firsthand of the details - it's been suggested quite a bit that he played the 'victim of anti-Semitism' card when it suited him most, and that in general - to be diplomatic - he was good at playing his cards when they suited him. This article puts some of this side of him into full view.

That's a professional hit. No doubt about it. They're going to say that it was a suicide.
I wonder what happened to the round the clock bodyguards he was supposed to have.
