The Royal Wedding

kate's sister = bootylicious

Thanks to this post I took time out from watching reruns of Star Trek to watch a rerun of the Royal Wedding.

In spite of the official credits, it's clear to me that Pippa's (Kate's sister) dress was designed by Klingons.

The green dress (later than night) was almost as sexy:

The bride's maid dress was even sexier because it wasn't "supposed" to be sexy in the first place.

Fortunately, the Thong isn't just a village in Kent:

As an article of clothing it's so much less:

Generalization yes, but hardly racial. The English people is not a race.

Quite amusing reading your protestations on the "ignorance and bigotry" of others. Is bigotry only an issue when it concerns Sweden?

Nationalism is hardly positive.

Its not entirely negative either, and if watching two young people getting married makes millions happy - so be it. Not exactly then end of the world.

I'm British and over in the UK right now. In my town, virtually no-one is celebrating, everyone totally sick of all the press coverage, its been totally nauseating and over the top. The crowds you saw on tv are just the royal fanclub, all the nut jobs, plus tourists. To all you US citizens here, please take this bunch of reactionary leeches and make one of them your hereditary head of state.

So as usual on this forum, a simple message concerning the wedding of two happy people yesterday gets turned on it's head and veers off into the stratosphere.

I agree with you, its better when threads keep on focus and not get diverted. I did read three topics at least in your post, the marriage and ceremony, the opinion of the British about the current royals, and the monarchy. Challenges to factual claims should be included in the same thread.

I can see that for some the spectacle would genuinely represent just a simple wedding. I think the way the Windsors manage their PR is interesting but not worth a separate thread.

Or a handful of Kleenex...

Just in case you're crying...or still very excited...(like me).

What are you on about? Nothing in my post had anything to do with race. No, bigotry is normally an issue when it involves racism. In the case of the post about Sweden it involved Muslims. Really, I could care less if people speak bad about my country, I do it all the time myself. What upset me was the prejudice against Arabs.

This begs the question, "At whose expense?"

This didn't look like a "cheap" wedding to me.

(I should know. I paid for mine.)

Most of we Brits hold the monarchy in high regard, particularly Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, who has reigned with dignity since 1952, if I'm not mistaken.
This Royal family has been shaken to it's core in recent decades, not least the debacle of the late Diana's 'marriage' and subsequent death.
Strangely, one could almost feel Diana's presence today.
The naysayers and anti monarchists are entitled to their opinions, but today was one of celebration and a new chapter in the ancient line of the British Royal family.

So you do accept the fact that the royal family could have had a hand in the death or murder of Diana? The grand father of Diana's unborn child says he is certain of it.
