The Sad State Of The Argentinian Navy

The Argentine Battleship Moreno would blow any boats those Pommy b-tards have out of the water!

Does Argentina have a coast guard or does the "navy" do that job? If CFK is really progressive why not disband the military altogether and be done with the history of repression? I believe Costa Rica has no military. Wouldn't a modest coast guard and an unarmed civilian outfit prepared to deal with national emergencies be sufficient¿ Why not do something bold in the interest of world peace¿. She could even get the Nobel Prize.

Obama got the Peace Prize whilst he was blowing up terrorists by remote control (with a little collateral damage). Maybe what K needs to do, is develop Argentine Drone technology to blast a few Golpistas in Barrio Norte. It would be easy to set the software to zap pot-bangers. Then she might be in the running for the Nobel...

But back to the Argentine Navy:

[background=rgb(250, 250, 250)]With budget cuts, the Brits have no aircraft carrier. Across the Atlantic, Brazil does have one, the Sao Paulo, along with a fleet of nuclear-powered attack submarines being built in partnership with Argentina.[/background]

If only they can get the Libertad back. It would be perfect for a Gilbert and Sullivann style attack on the Falklands.

I think there is misinterpretation of the press about this suposed partnership between Brazil an Argentina to build nuclear submarines. The PROSUB project does not involve Argentina at all. It is a partnership between Brasil and France, in which France will transfer to Brasil the "non-nuclear" part of the submarine technology, while Brasil develops the nuclear reactor by itself. There is no Argentine participation on this program, which makes sense, considering the 6 billion+ dollars price tag for the program.

Someone will become very well known and make a nice profit if they ever develop the Kirchner presidency into a broadway show. The never ending drama, exaggerated clothes, makeup, and botox overload of the protagonist of the show will be talked about for years. Of course they made that silly move about Néstor a/k/a "él" and it was supposed to be taken seriously and more of a documentary detailing how he rose Argentina up from the ashes. It's a good idea to read the review this movie was given by the New York Times film critics and it's totally obvious that Argentina is the laughing stock of the Americas. It's both funny and quite sad at the same time.

Do you have the link by any chance? I can't seem to find it.

Thank you very much. Brazil's Lula also had a movie about himself produced (at the taxpayer's expense) as a piece of propaganda. Was not a documentary, but an actual "idealized" re-enactment of his life. It was one of the most costly Brazilian movies ever made, and it bombed spectacularly at the box office. Many, including myself, believe that most of the money to finance the production of the film was actually embezzled.
