Things Expats Like About Living In Bsas..

I only live in BsAs about 20% of the time, so I am not a true expat.

I mainly came for the pizza. :D

I love the way you can live here on not a lot of cash- I go out and see music several times a week, and cover charge and a beer is usually 1/3 or even 1/4 what I would pay in the USA. Lots of times, Free. I see a lot of world class art exhibitions at Proa, Malba, Mamba, Macba, and the like.

The architecture is wonderful- I am a particular fan of the era of Art Noveau and Art Deco, 1880 to 1940 or so, and Buenos Aires is full of great examples.

I have a lot of great argentine friends, who are much more educated, in most cases, than the average american.

And then there is the fuggazetta.

Well there is always good and bad side of a thing. Positivity and negativity depends upon ones own perspective, I have seen people happy here when they choose to live here, and seen people angry, sad and complaining are the ones who forced to live here. So if you will be living here not by any force, you will love everything about Buenos Aires.

I love threads in which people are talking about what they love. Thanks for starting it, CaliCoco.

I'm not arriving till next week, but I easily find intelligent, "soulful" people to hang out with in BA. However, my main reason for spending months at a time there is the quality of tango that I dance there. It's a soul-nourishing experience almost every night.

Access to local shops so that I don't have to spend all my money at chain stores, the fresh fruit and vegetables, the slower pace of life, helados, the way people love kids, the late night dining culture, people using the public parks to socialise, Teatro Colon, access to the arts, better public transport than where I am from, apartment living. I agree that the cost of living is lower here than a lot of western cities. It is certainly cheaper than living in Australia!

The culture and activities of the city, the friends I've made, the fact that its cheap, and most importantly, the wine.

what I love is the vibe here...... the city life... always something to see and do.... dinner is a 4 hour event more than a meal..... the food ...yes it is sort of the same.. but the food is fresh and there are many great places to eat here... fresh pasta fresh fruit..still very good steaks, great ice cream.. etc etc
I also love that you can get almost everything delivered if you want it.... I was so shocked the first time I got my groceries delivered.....
The people.. yes there are some very beautiful women here but the people here are mostly well educated and I have met many very helpful good people here.

the weather is good year around for me..I like the mild change in seasons... I love the walking.... just everything within a few blocks... and always a different place or store to check out...yes there are things I miss about the USA... but when I am there-- I start to miss things here in Buenos Aires.... I love to just walk and get lost a bit.... finding a new little bar.. drink a beer or even better a bottle of malbec and just people watch.....

I think here - I am more about enjoying my life than working 14 hour days and trying to buy more crap that I dont need or really does not mean anything....

Buenos Aires for me showed me there is a lot more about living simple and happy ---- than a huge house full of crap and 4 cars etc etc

The transit is cheap, I was able to get a job working in English that pays the median wage for Argentina even though
I'm not done University for years, I have friends here, it's different than North America, there's lots of interesting things
to do (if you have money). Idk, I moved to Arge because I wanted a change, so I guess the bar isn't that high...
