I just saw this in La nacion: https://www.lanacion.com.ar/socieda...son-cuando-rigen-nuevos-requisitos-nid2523827

Looks like as of Dec. 1 you must have a negative PCR test to enter the country. You're, of course, still going to have to fill out the the declaraion jurada and download the Cuidar app.
When will they publish it?

Despite what this lady is saying -- she loves going on the record and say stuff she is not sure about and just improvise -- Argentina CANNOT prohibit the entry of its own citizens or legal residents even without a PCR(-). She seems to suggest that if you have no PCR the airline will deny you boarding. Ridiculous. The way I see it, los argenitnos (and residents) will still be allowed to fly in without a PCR but "subject to a cuarentena for 14 days". As of Tuesday, you can attach the PCR certificate and avoid the 14 days.

Stantucker, if you can delay your trip to BA by 1-2 days, it might be a good idea so that there is more clarity and you can get the PCR and be able to attach it to the DDJJ. They will likely come up with some sort of a "grace period" for the first few days...But either way you'd be fine. The quarantine is not enforced in CABA, so I wouldn't worry. Maybe wait till tomorrow to see what the decreto says exactly and then decide.

Dsp27, thanks for your post. I hope you are right that the people who end up caught up in the limbo and aren't aware of the rule change aren't denied boarding, but as this wonderful kichnerista goes on to say in the article, the airlines that allow people to travel without the negative pcr test will be fined, and the airlines don't want that to happen.

After spending literally hours looking for and booking a pcr test that guaranteed results in 48 to 96 hours (the best I could arrange), I called the airline (Delta, in my case), even though I had already looked at the flights online and they didn't look good. Even in this age of covid, they won't charge you a change fee, but they will charge you the difference in the fare (unless they cancel the flight, of course), and the fares were much higher. But you can always depend on Aerolinas Argentinas. I think almost simultanous with my call Aerolineas had canceled my flight from Sao Paulo to BA on the 1st, which meant that Delta was going to have to change my ticket anyway (orginally Atlanta to Sao Paulo Nov. 30 and Sao Paulo to BA Dec.1). I got it changed to tomorrow, Nov. 29, and I am now stoping over in Mexico City and flying on to BA with Aeromexico on the 30th, with less wait time than I would have had in Sao Paulo. This way I don't have to worry about anything that goes into effect Dec. 1. I'm sure some will say that I overeacted, but with how improvised and shotty this govt is, I didn't want to take any chances. Thanks for your advice.

Happy to hear all worked out! FYI for future reference -- you could have done the PCR at the Airport in SAO PAULO GRU -- you get the results in less than 4 hours and it costs 55 dollars.

BTW -- I think AR canceled your flight in anticipation of the changes taking effect that day and the uncertainty of who/how can enter.

I knew they did that but I think a poster here said it took six hours total to get the test and the results, but it is a good thing to keep in mind. I didn't have that long of a layover in Sao Paulo.

Correction..have done the GRU airport PCR test, 2 days ago. it costs 350 reals.. queue time 2 hours, result time, exactly 4 hours ( not 2 or 3)..ensure u have at least 7 hours between flights, if u want the PCR test at GRU and 8 hours if 2nd flight is not from terminal 3.

best strategy is to arrive late evening at GRU. Go for PCR test, and check in at Marriott GRU airport hotel....and return in morning, collect results and fly in.

I did it too. 10 days ago. Wait time, 20 min, results came out in 2:20 min. Cost 350 reais (10% off for showing my LATAM boarding pass, so R$ 315, ~60USD). BUT you are right -- YMMV -- budget enough time just in case there is a backlog.

wow - did not know this one - 0% off for showing my LATAM boarding pass, so R$ 315, ~60USD

my queue time was 0800-1000 in the morning. perhaps arriving late night would be better.

They've fallen victim of their own success. A few months ago there was barely anyone waiting. The PCR "check in" staff is very slow and disorganized. It's not immediately clear which desk is for requesting a test and which one is for receiving the results. The medical staff that does the test is brilliant thou -- quick and efficient.

You better falar português because no one speaks english or spanish there.
