Tucker Carlson in Buenos Aires

Argentina is a horrible comparison to the US because the US can borrow in their own currency meaning they can run an enormous debt and their debt gets cheaper, not more expensive. One of the perks of having the world reserve currency. And no the dollar isn't collapsing.
Not even God himself could sink the US Dollar.

“Fitch Ratings recently downgraded the U.S. long-term credit rating from its top mark of AAA to AA+, marking the second time in history that a major credit-rating agency downgraded the United States. The first time was by Standard & Poor’s (S&P) in 2011.

Fitch cited multiple reasons for the decision, including:

Interesting how you act ignorant about Tucker but at the same time call him “beyond satirical” I am assuming you heard that from main stream media. Perhaps some people still entertain hearing different views? Perhaps some people can freely think for themselves? Perhaps some people aren’t part of a cult?
The cult of Fox News? The cult of Trump? Which one?

Have I missed something? I’m not from the US but in the same vein that I view the daily mail and GB news as satire, isn’t this Fox new presenter beyond the point of satirical? Does anybody really care what he says? I don’t, but I’m curious to understand those who do
His interview with Milei has around 121 million views, so apparently a lot of people care about what he has to say.

How about the cult of @ggreenwald
"dishonest, arrogant, weaselly, snide, condescending assholes, passionately devoted to the Dem Party and Biden -- ie, corporate media."

What I found interesting about this whole thing is that, while itś pitched as a story ¨Socialist Biden will make America into Venezuela Argentina¨, I came across it on the Argentina subreddit. There, it was met with resounding acclaim (that thread is very pro-Milei, with the same kinds of superhero mashup memes that populated r/TheDonald in 2015). Very few people seemed to know of Tuckerś reputation in the States, his recent exit from Fox, the Dominion lawsuit, his interview with Obama´s ¨gay lover¨, etc. It was more like, ¨Trumpś favorite journalist likes Javier! All the way from the USA they see our strife!¨

(I guarantee you Tucker´s audience domestically knows next to nothing about Argentina, and really doesn´t care.)

Then I go to YouTube to watch the interview, and in the course of an hour, dozens of weird accounts had posted the full video without comment... all Spanish versions, not for English-speaking audiences.

My take is that the Atlas Network is hard at work. More manufactured chatter, more media airtime, correlated with more votes for Trump in 2016. Do the peers of the Koch brothers see investment opportunities if things are privatized in Argentina? Do they like his anti-China stance? I don´t know the endgame, I just know the online tactics are nearly identical to USA in 2016.

For a country that used to be so on guard against US interference, I am a little surprised Tucker is greeted as anything but a propagandist.

I know that Argentina needs exactly what Milei is proposing, and needs it hard. I think we all know that.

But like Carlson, man, that's like not the person you want to align with.

For sure, this is what Milei is kind of doing, down to the weirdo hair. Milei is a hardline dude. He will become the president, I think. And probably also get the entire ultra left and most people right of center will get worked into his program. Mileiismos will probably realign the right to make it a lot more whatever that guy does.

Also, the country is going to change, and the truly weird Milei, who really does have the Argentine youth, will thereby probably unite the ultra right (old and shop owners) and ultra left (desperate youths) to support super him, bizarrely. I predict that Milei will be the vehicle for something pretty new, and that he'll probably win in the first round.

Nuke me if I'm wrong.

But, here's the thing - nobody wants what currently exists, and it's like a zero level support. The government is doomed and for sure massive change is coming. I'm not pro-Milei, but who else is there?

The cult of white saviors. The cult of ignorance and arrogance. The cult of Trump derangement. The cult of actual fascists.
