Vegans in Violent Incident Protest with Slaughterhouse Workers

Ironically a vegan would not need to be tested for mad cows desease as BSE is an infectious disease believed to be due to a misfolded protein, known as a prion. Cattle are believed to have been infected from being fed meat and bone meal (MBM) that contained the remains of other cattle who spontaneously developed the disease or scrapie-infected sheep products. So the vegan mentioned up thread would probably be fine.

Unless a carnivore enters a restaurant eg McDonald's and asks the server to omit the bread, fries, gherkin, saled etc then it's safe to say that meat eaters also consume food previously deemed 'vegan.' Palm oil is in many foods, most vegans will actively avoid palm oil and have done so for years.

82% of starving children live in countries where food is grown to feed animals in the west.

It takes 10 bathtubs full of water to make just one hamburger patty.
Approximately 70 billion farm animals are being raised for food annually. In 2015, people in the U.S. consumed 24.8 billion pounds of beef, with the majority of that cattle being raised in massive feedlots. Those cattle, in addition to other feedlot animals like chickens and pigs, are consuming 70% of the grain grown in the U.S.

According to the USDA’s, corn, barley, oats and sorghum are used as major feed grains in the U.S., with corn “accounting for more than 95 percent of total feed grain and production use.” In the U.S., 36% of corn crops being used to feed livestock. Soy is also commonly used in feed, with 75% of global soybean crops being fed to livestock. To support these crops, one third of arable land being used for feed production globally, using vast amounts of land and water resources.

At a certain point, the logical end of this sort of argument is to advocate for the managed extinction of the entire human race. Animals eat each other, aside from gravity, water, carbon, oxygen, light, and a few other things, it's the basic fact of our planet.

And most coffee addicts and chocolate consumers are blissfully ignorant of the fact that workers on coffee and cocoa plantations are treated like royalties and live in luxury conditions, eh. And the feedlots and the slaughterhouses are an example of humane treatment of the animals and the workers there are having a blast murdering them. And how about the Bangladesh clothing industry slaves? And Chinese Apple factories? And Dominican all inclusive resorts employees on 16 hours shifts with no weekends off and no vacations? Why all of us refine, educated, intelligent, cultured high society people just not cut the crap and stop pointing fingers at people that have different preferences. And stop being hypocrites and bragging about our unlimited financial resources, but face the facts and admit that the only reason we can afford our fancy lifestyles is that we are catered to by all those exploited...
Thanks for your thought provoking comments. I was inspired to research Thus Spake Zarathustra.

with one VERY MINOR difference. Animals don't raise each other in filthy conditions on garbage unnatural food, nor they indulge in gluttony. they eat what they need to sustain themselves, and this maintains the balance in nature. Whereas us, superior creatures, stuff ourselves for pleasure. Do the obesity, heart attacks and cancer rates in NA provoke some contemplation of what and how much we consume? If we ate the way animals do. there would be no need for feedlots and slaughter houses, the pastures and local butchers would have served the purpose perfectly and nobody would be starving in the world.

Renzi, the same could be said for the other side of the argument! I (and others here who are far my articulate than myself) have put forward facts and figures towards the undeniable impact that the meat industry has on the planet, yet comments here would suggest that Nazi's were vegans (towards the end of his life, Adolf Hitler (1889–1945) followed a vegetarian diet. It is not clear when or why he adopted it, since some accounts of his dietary habits prior to the Second World War indicate that he consumed meat as late as 1937)
That vegans are crazy malnourished
benefit scroungers hippies that have CJD (infact only caught by eating meat)

Covid,SARS and many more pandemics and viruses were caused exclusively by eating a food that already has well documented high carcinogenic properties.

Veganism is becoming more mainstream, they are not flat earthers or conspiracy theorists. It is a industry that kills 77 billion land animals every year, and the planet is struggling.
