We want dialogue! No, not here, not now!

With all that extra money flowing around in Britain and Argentina to build up the military, I'm guessing we're all safe for the next few decades or so. :/

Argentina is not investing in the military, that why it is as useless as it is now. A well organised squadron of teros would destroy the Argentine airforce in minutes. The UK has still some kind of colonial hangover though, building aircraft carriers, nuclear subs etc.

Many find this man to be a dinosaur from the dark days of the military.
But I find the outlook of Aldo Rico refreshing for how he says what he says and the way that he says it.
I don't for one minute subscribe to any possible notion of military involvement in our political situation here in Argentina, but listening to this man is a breath of fresh air compared to the assinine platitudes we have to put up with on a daily basis from people who simply don't have a clue about how to handle the future, not to mention the present.

Cameron and CFK face to face today at G20-

Mr Cameron approached Ms Fernandez, and told her: "I am not proposing a full discussion now on the Falklands but I hope you have noted that they are holding a referendum and you should respect their views.

"We should believe in self determination and act as democrats here in the G20."

Aides said Mr Cameron gave a "clear and calm message" which he repeated three times as his words were interpreted into Spanish. Ms Fernandez is said to have responded with "ramblings".

Ramblings. lol, I would like to know what the ramblings were.

Prizes for guessing?

I am very sorry I used my right to post my opinion. Please Read this 1247 comments -which were posted in a few hours after the article appeared- and come back tell me the Bristish don't care. Of course they do!And I also lived in the UK in the early nineties.

You're welcome to express your opinion. And equally, I'm entitled to tell you that you sound utterly clueless.

Comments on newspaper articles are a terrible indicator of national interest. The comment sections are where the internet's demented congregate to spew their drivel at each other.

The fact that you briefly lived in the UK doesn't exactly make you an authority on what matters to the 60 million people who call Britain home. You seem to think that because you care deeply, logically other people on the other side of the "debate" must care deeply.

But the reality is that there's only one side to this debate. Argentina demands that Britain return the Falklands. And in response, Britain ignores Argentina.

Nobody on this side of the Atlantic cares. Sorry.

Thats a huge Lie!, the Argentine Air Force its strong and could destroy any british force. Did you know that AAF were close to destroy the whole british marine?. I Figured out that after destroying several ships of the british fleet and be close to send them to home, god decides to help them. And then something strange started to happen: "the bombs slamed by the AAF planes began to explode with a delay" and that fact did keep the ships under safe, because the vessels were crossed side to side by the bombs, and then blew up out. After the war many vessels of the brit marine had holes maded by the AAF bombs wich crossed them side to side.

Indeed! He seems a strongman and what have you (although speaks of Republicanism) but he sounded so refreshing that I decided to watch a full interview http://youtu.be/v8_D3Fnob0U
he repeats himself often so it's easier to understand
He actually defends the Islanders Right of Self Determination, and has a theory that seems actually compatible with his Argentine Nationalism. (considers the islands Argentine territory, but inhabited but a foreign nation that should be respected)

Aldo Rico explains in that same interview how the bombs were not calibrated because the handbooks were American and in English and no one read the language properly, so they had to throw the uncalibrated bombs through the ships, over and over again 'como sapitos' (the game I assume where you throw a stone or coin into a concrete amphibian?). So I guess it wasn't HIS hand after all.
