Upcoming South American Explorers Clubhouse Events
---Book Swap---
Next Thursday, May 18 at 7:30pm, the clubhouse will be providing one of the greatest gifts one can give. That's right, the trading of books. Come on in with your wonderful treasures, and swap them with us, or your fellow travelers. This is also the perfect opportunity to pick up some of those hard-to-find Lonely Planet, Footprint and Bradt travel guides. And remember, members get 10% off the sticker price.
But consider yourself forewarned: you now have a week to finish what you are reading. Tick-tock! Light refreshments will be provided; donations are very much appreciated.
---Sunday Brunch---
SAE will host our inaugural Sunday brunch fundraiser on May 28. We're calling it brunch with Ken, but once you taste the culinary delights of this ex-brunch chef from the US, you will want to know his last name too. In additon to a mouth-wateringly delicious spread of goodies, we'll provide java and oj. Famed breakfast libations such as Bloody Marys and Mimosas will be available for purchase.
Two seatings: at noon and 2pm. So we can plan, tickets must be purchased in advance at the clubhouse for 30 pesos. Choose your preferred seating time with one of our friendly SAE volunteers. We are looking forward to brunching with you!
---Clases de conversación---
In response to a recent exam administered by the SAE Spanish Authority, your friends at SAE have decided that we all could use some serious Spanish practice. Our scores were so low, in fact, that we have recruited one of the most prestigious Spanish teachers in the country to guide us in a candid and stimulating conversation class. Gisela Giunti will be leading us through a variety of discussions in the unique setting of the SAE clubhouse. If you are unsure of her qualifications, just ask the Irish Ambassador: she is his teacher, too. The chat begins on Thursday, May 25 and classes will be held every other Thursday thereafter. All levels are welcome, but some Spanish conversational skills are essential.

If your Spanish skills correlate (positively or otherwise) with the amount of Malbec that you imbibe, then bring some; better yet, bring a lot to share with all of your SAE pals!
