What A Moto Robbery Looks Like

Looked like a guided tour to me.

Take a scenic and relaxing trip through the city of Bueons Aires, the Paris of the south. Feel the clean air mingle with your hair as you cycle the historic streets of the city, complete with stops at key spots in the storied past of the Argentine people. See Buenos Aires at its best, see the Tango, the passion, get robbed and gunpoint by a dirtbag on a scooter, and stop for a spot of lunch.

Departures on those Bici tours should be preceded by something similar to the scene in Saving Private Ryan were Tom Hanks strips the young typist's gear down to nothing more than the essentials.

Backpack, you won't need that, tossed to the floor (unless you've got mace in there), go pro?...come rob more like, get that off.

I have been here a few years, but I decided this winter while staying in a hotel in the center that I would do the open bus tour thingy. It was an experience of a city crumbling, but aside from that the bus was taking itself through La Boca when we passed a group of children. The next thing I know a sizeable stone hit me directly below the eye pretty hard. I looked back to shout "pesky kids" but actually seen that it was a man who was probably in his mid-thirties who had done it. He was on his own. A cm higher I may have been in trouble. What a dick.

Before the stone throwing incident, we called you simply "Goodlookin'"

This guy obviously didn't read about the Aussie/Kiwi killed recently defending his backpack in Mendoza.

Any news on that case?

He did not hear about Pablo Tonello either (the guy who was killed last month in Lacroze & Libertador). Amazing how you can hear his heart beating fast...

That is on my 8K run route. Pablo Tonello was killed for his bike. I have seen people hanging out behind the stone wall where they suspect they ambushed him. Now there is a cop standing there almost all the time.

Yeah, I don't think the guy understood what he wanted though, although he did seem to think they were going to be friends.

If you read through some of the reddit discussion he actually says he did understand but that he had his whole travels camera footage in the backpack and so ácted as if he didnt understand'.... imho he was lucky and put himself and the group he was cycling with at risk. Then again, it's hard to make rational decisions while under pressure and high adrenalin conditions with no prior training, heck even with training its hard :)

If this happened in Sao Paulo or in Rio, he would have been shot after the guy demanded the backpack the second time. Lucky for him, it was Argentina.
