What A Moto Robbery Looks Like

That is on my 8K run route. Pablo Tonello was killed for his bike. I have seen people hanging out behind the stone wall where they suspect they ambushed him. Now there is a cop standing there almost all the time.

I understood he was trying to protect his backpack as it contained a project he was working on. Maybe not, either way it's a tragic illustration of why it's best to comply straight away.

The problem here is that someone else might think it wise to just throw a bike at them and run away with what you really want to keep, that might end up in another tragedy.

I said no to two guys who were trying to rob me at gunpoint (I was alone) in Rio at night. There was nobody else around. I have had no training (well, I speak Portuguese but I guess that is not what you guys are speculating about here), and I escaped unscathed. I am a woman. True story.

My intuition told me I'd be OK to do this - had it said otherwise, I would have complied.

amigo amigo amigo!!

I think robbery set up might be included in the tour but it's not mentioned in the brochure. Interesting the bike tour people told him the scooter dirtbag had been apprehended the following day and yet the police claim to have no record of even a denuncia.

This could have been a tragedy only for the tourist not knowing how to say backpack in spanish!!

the best is the youtube commenters who are saying that the american tourist set it up to make the Ks look bad lololol

'I don't understand amigo, oh, you want this green rental bicycle with the big gay basket on the front? ok, you take that home amigo and I'll look after your moto until you come back for it, after all that's what amigos are for'

Yeah..."THE K" doesn't need any Chorros to look bad...they do that freely...When I saw this I though it was a set up...that guy only went after the one guy...

This is how they managed to get a bunch of other people to pay for their 60 month vacation:
Watch as a group of 20-somethings explore every nation of the world: graduating with their Global Degree.
Let's face it: we all want to travel the entire world but can't because it's too expensive, too dangerous, or too lonely to go on our own.

Wrong on all accounts...
ahem...
Watch as a group of 20-somethings complete their 'Global Degree' by stepping foot into every country of the world with a budget of less than $100 per day. Although a traveling pack, they'll engage with locals and other travelers independently and create strong friendships,
amigoamigoamigoamigo - you can't say he didn't try.
showing the power of having an open heart and an open mind.
The boys will be helping those in need on an individual level, instead of through a mainstream charity or organization.
then why didn't he hand over the mochila to that prticular individual in need?
They will be marching into the most 'dangerous' areas on earth and will surprise everybody with the level of welcoming and gracious people they meet, leading to a serious evaluation of the assumptions we make about nations.
you can take the quotes off dangerous now.
The goal is to proudly say they've have stepped foot into every nation of the world before their 30th birthday. But as it stands, these are twenty-something single guys, so there will be a share of partys, sports, girls, and incredibly random yet entertaining adventures.

The trip will be entirely drug-free, as this jeopardizes the safety of the travelers and not something they stand for.
wouldn't it have been safer (and more fun) to spend the day in the hostel with some ibogaine, half a dozen nitrous bulbs, and a bottle of merlot?
The episodes will have you laughing, crying, cheering, and in shock. but most importantly, it will leave the viewer wanting to go on their own global adventure.
ahem...
"The world is yours."
...but not my backpack
