What Have You Brought And Sold For The Best Profit Margin?

Yop, clothes & related items can sell well if chosen with care.

Of course, better choose premium brands, and it might be better to buy stuff for women.

Back in 2001 in NYC, I had bought for my then-GF a wonderful pair of boots by Lolita Lempicka (if I recall). It was an huge promo and I had paid a ridiculous price, like 70$ (boots were new of course, all embroided, magnificent).
So it's likely possible to find huge sales in the US for such premium products.

Same thing in France, there's a city named Troyes where there are many outlets (Kenzo, Christian Lacroix, etc.). A suit for men by Kenzo (from the year before, but new of course), costs like 120 euros (150 USD).

Lingerie (premium one) can be a good lead too = few times I tried to buy some here (not for me rrhoooo), the choice was limited and quality was really low. Furthermore it's expensive and lightweight (better profit per kilo you bring here)

Isn't there less of a bulk merchandise that the OP can make a fatter profit from than dealing with many
fashion stuffs, Whiskeys, or other too numerous stuffs?

Has the prestige of Apple product dwindled down and so no more can make a quick and easier money making?
Sort of things that once perhaps invest around US$800.00 + and be able to get circa US$ 1500.00 for it in retailing it there.? What happened to talks once I used to read in this forum that a person was making a killing by making 3~4 runs back and forth for a sweet profit? Changing times I guess !

The advantage of clothing is that if you take off the tags it can easily be your own clothing so no problems at migrations, as long as you don´t overkill it--don´t bring in 20 pairs of nikes! They generally have their eyes out for electronics.
I know of a flight attendent (Argentine) who brings back suitcases of clothing, leaves them at pilates studios and yoga studios, people look through them and leave the money with the instructor. All stuff like Limited, Banana Republic, etc

Women here go crazy for Victoria's Secret lingerie. I've never bought back and sold clothing but many flight attendants do. The problem with iphones and Apple products is there are so many good deals with the local cell phone companies and people often just prefer to pay in monthly quotes with no interest and they can have a nice Blackberry or Samsung.

Clothing - Banana Republic, Gap, Hilfiger, Polo, Nike... Buy at outlets, sell high, proceed to casino.

Match worn and match prepared football shirts. There is a vast market for this in Buenos Aires and in many parts of the World. It's like antique collecting though and tough to start from scratch. There are load of crooks and loads of fakes, but you can make a lot. It's a hobby of mine, but I know several people that make a living from it. PM if you want to know more.

I am planning that everytime I travel to USA, to pick up 3-4 Macbook air chargers for 80 usd and sell them here for 1800 pesos.

not a bad way to make money!

Believe it or not, you can make quite a bit of money on clothes. Clothes here are incredibly expensive, and if you buy some brand like Tomy Hilfiger at an outlet with some sales, you can sell them off piece y piece in Mercadolibre at double or triple the price. The quality of clothing in Argentina is so bad that people are willing to pay premium prices for something that will last more than a few wears. Another strategy is to go to Ross (or similar) and buy the discount rack stuff that is name brand for sometimes cents and then sell it here at ten times the price. Baby clothes here strangely cost MORE than adult clothes, so if you go to the discount racks at Ross, Carters, OshKosh, etc. then you can find items for 3$ $4 $5 dollars which you can then sell here for 30. I think once I made 800 dollars off of a quarter suitcase of baby clothing.

Some Argy friends took a shopping trip to Miami and brought back suitcases full of Forever 21 clothes (tags removed); mostly dresses which are about $20usd there; note that this was before the peso dropped so much in value but was about 6 or 7 to the dollar, so they made a big profit when the cost of a dress was 120-150pesos selling them for 250 and up probably. They had a feria to sell them in BA then went to Pergomino where her fam has a quinta. Advertised it on facebook like we might see a sample sale back home!!
