What's It Like To Live In Palermo Soho? (Vs Other Areas)

Well then...that means that la Boca is Palermo Watts.

Palermo, land of the trapito and the hungover permatourists.

Come a little bit further north and invest in a nice comfortable pair of loafers, get your subscription to La Nacion join the chattering middles classes. Come on, you're not getting any younger. If you've a bit of the divil left in you, then live on the Colegiales side.

You can dip in and out of the bars and restaurants "over there" returning to the safe zone via the DMZ in 5 to 10 mins by taxi.

One of my favourite activities on Sunday is taking the dog over the bridge into Palermo early in the morning and spotting the shell shocked yoof emerging from their temporary shelters and making a breakl for their parents houses back in Caballito. My dog is pretty barky, so it's entertaining watching her shred their frayed nerves with horrible schnauzer yelps.

Old women in Recoleta keep thinking they're entitled to my time and company. I'm friendly but this is getting too much. Is this sort of thing common here? They are very forward. One of them in a restaurant the other day had me share her champagne and then was telling me her boyfriend is out of town for the next two weeks. She was significantly older than me. Should I demand money for this.

Only if you're worth it. ;)

Now, this is a story all about how
My life got flipped-turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute
Just sit right there
I'll tell you why I live in Soho, Buen Air.

In the north western hemisphere born and raised
On the Facebook was where I spent most of my days
Chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool
And all tradin' some stocks while playin' bejewel'd
When a couple of guys who were up to no good
Messed up the economy as best they could
I got in one little blight and my Shwab got scared
I said 'I'm movin' with my MacBook down to Buen Air'

But wait I hear they're Spanish, Italian, all that
Is this the type of place that they just send this gringo cat?
I don't think so
I'll see when I get there
I hope they're prepared for the prince of Buen-Air

Well, the plane landed and when I came out
It was 100 degrees and the power was out
I rented a PH
Got my Sube card and more
I memorized the phrase 'Una cerveza, por favor'

I whistled for a cab and twenty came near
I tried to find a bank alas to no cheer
If anything I could say that supermarkets are rare
And way more dogshit than for what I was prepared

I pulled up to the parilla about 12 or 1
And I yelled to the mozo 'Yo quiero un bife, well done'
I looked at my kingdom
I was finally there
To sit on my throne as the Prince of Buen Air (Soho).

Retiro, San Martin Sq, Arroyo St, arenales 900-800 for those of us who like to be close to the city centre and love architecture! Wanky, elegant but low profile :)
