Where's a Good Small Town to Ride Out the Storm?

My contacts in small towns,( Less than 9000 inhabitants), on Ruta 5 Provincia de Buenos Aires. Tell me that the only cafe and resto is closed up to March 31. Foreigners would not be welcome in a place where they all know each other..!
 
I agree a normal small town might be less welcoming in these crazy times but what do you think about small towns that cater to tourists like Villa General Belgrano, Cafayate and San Martin DLA? A casual glance at the AIRbnb prices in VGB is that they are cheap and it might be a ghost town - which would be nice - as long as there is one grocery store open...
 
Mr del Plata, Villa Gesell, Pinamar al towns that CATER to tourists. Authorities are asking people NOT to Go! Will Villa General Belgrano react differently?
 
Small town locals are bound to fear that a new arrival/refugee may be carrying the virus.

I would not welcome newcomers at this time, either.
 
Stay put in the big city where foreigners are not anything unusual. Why put yourself in a strange environment in the midst of a crisis?
 
To ride in a small town you must plan this in advance like Steve near Bahia Blanca did . He was intelligent in the sense that he integrated himself in a friendly community years ago . Now he is one of them and this will help him inmensely ride this out as everyone knows him and will look out for him . I agree with Sergio that to now go to a small town is too late as people will look at you with fear and distrust . This virus has changed the world for the moment and people are fearful of anything new or foreign .
