We argued a life time, and I never got anywhere, for 19 years tried to hold water.

Couldn't agree more Joe. In 19 years it's hard to believe his wife didn't express her needs or desires, goals and dreams. At this advanced stage of m own life(46 last week) I am amazed at how few men communicate well outside a business context. I am not a feminist by any means (I love men!) nor do I see females as the dominant sex but what we do do well is communicate, understand and empathise. If men could do that they'd rule the world for sure...giving birth would also help in that regard.

Right at the end, when you´re exhausted tired and old, you think you made it to the finish line, someone is just waiting there, with 19 years plan, pointing the law to your head. No time or any chance in hell to recover or do anything about it. Too late. I think it´s SAVAGE.

What does one need to do to keep his life time hard labor (ruling the world .. is of no interest to me)?

For me the marriage vow is a false misleading hidden trap. Camouflaged with meaningless words, and no mentioning of reality. At least it should include one additional short sentence to spell out that it is a legal contract 50/50 valid in courts.

We have no idea why she wanted a divorce. Weren't you interested in the reason why? Since the divorce obviously upset you why wouldn't you ask 'What's wrong?', 'Maybe we can work this out if we discuss it'.
