Wifi Network Expert Needed

Is there a lot of traffic on your wifi channel? Do you need the expresses to work as routers or just AirPlay recievers. If the latter, disable the wifi network from them and just use the time machine.

The problem with using them as AirPlay receivers is that I can only play one set of speakers at a time.

I could never figure out - how to connect time machine to fibretel router. If I do that either the time machine works or the router works..BOTH dont

All I did was hook the 2 up with an ethernet cable.

Not at all. You can select each one individually or both together.

Let me know if you have any questions. Like I said I have a similar set up only I need my airport expreses to work as Access points as well in order to get full coverage of my house and I have them connected to the router with wired ethernet. If I didn't need the additional access points, I'd disable their functionality as wifi repeaters (via Airport Utility) and just use them like you are now to control the speakers.

The airports, especially the older ones don't have a ton of processing power.
