You Know You're Living In A 3Rd World Country When...

Excellent point. When you talk about socialism - first define what form of socialism you are talking about.

Socialism is the bogeyman living under your bed. Blame him for everything that's bad in the world. Pontificate about the horrors of comprehensive social welfare programs. Ignore the awkward fact that the Nordic model delivers the highest quality of life in the world.

For bonus points, champion how good things are in Somalia.

Who can be Against the Nordic Socialist Model....??

The people on the top of the riches scale that would have to share their wealth for the good of the society.

Sweden voted against the socialists the last couple of elections, but they voted them back in again this year. Unfortunately the third largest party in Sweden today is a semi socialist, anti-immigration, politely racist party. So many Swedish people are for socialism, but only wants to share with others like "us".

Funny thing is that a large part of the immigrants that Sweden see are ex-pats moving back home when the rest of the world economy is going south and they are bringing their families and partners.

A lot of people don't understand how small and relatively homogenous are the Nordic countries, which is a great reason why their socialistic policies work so well. Or maybe they understand the small and homogenous part, but don't stop to think that that is the reason it works well for them and not so well for other countries, particularly in countries where the prevailing cultural meme is "I deserve" rather than "we can make us all better together".

You mean spending all day on an online forum like you?

"Complaining about where to park your Ferrari so that it won't get stolen????" What are you smoking?

I think its funny how obviously pajarito is out of touch because there is A LOT of disparity in the US too, and yes there are youth who are living on the street and soliciting to you in broad daylight. There may not be as many but that just seems kind of contradictive as you claim to obviously know so much more of the plight going on in the world. Another thing I think is funny is you have spent so much time objecting us when we gave you real answers. Yes there may have been some sarcasm but still if it wasn't for the site there would be a lot of info you would have probably missed. But now you are on here causing drama and look at the date, November 4th, 3 days before regular classes for the semester end and you are still not here, probably haven't talked to UBA because they are very unorganized and you usually have to catch them in person. So now your still at square one probably won't make it in time to study take the tests and attend school here nor will probably enter Argentina to get it figured out because the universities will be closing for the summer soon. But you continue to be on here complaining like you know I place better than some people who may have lived here longer than you have been alive. None the less has never been here.

Give me the North sea Oil reserves of Norway with a small population and the Huge Dollar reserves form the pension funds of Trillions of Dollars and we can talk About Socialism...!! Nordic Socialism is equivalent to Berlusconi in Italy.. jajjajaajajja

Swedes are Extremely Racists across the board, against the Cabezitas Negras, and other dark In migrants (I was married to one). Scandinavia the most beautiful place on earth (And the People) in summer.

Interesting, because that's not even what I was saying at all. That had literally nothing to do with what I was talking about, nor does it accurately describe socialists or me, in any way, but glad you got that off your chest. I don't think having a B&W is something desirable. I don't think having a "mansion" is desirable. I have often been in environments such as this "capitalist paradise" you are describing and it makes me feel sick and miserable and empty inside, so yeah, I'd say my personal views are more socialist than capitalist because gluttony does not appeal to me.
Guess I'll go watch my free soccer now ...futbol para todos :)

Tomorrow morning I am going to get out of bed at 6AM grab my board walk out my front door and then I am going walk about 60 meters and hop into the beautiful Atlantic Ocean and watch the sun rise while I surf.

Wealth really is not of great importance to me to be honest. It was not even the driving motivation that got me where I am today. What was driving me? I believe it was the examples set by my parents and grandparents, my aunts and uncles and friends. These examples were hard working people that did everything including managing their homes and property with diligence and excellence weather they had money or not. Back in the 60s and 70s when I was growing up we were poor, so poor that when I was in junior high school I had to wear some cloths that were my father’s when he was younger. Talk about hand me downs.

Right about that time my mother asked me one day. Do you want new cloths for school next fall? Of course I said yes! She said the farmer down the street has a job for you picking fruit and vegetables. Both myself and my brother worked summers on our neighbor’s farms.

I believe the examples set by my family and the experience of having to work for what you wanted set the tone for my life and career. I was taught that when you work for some else you work for them as if you are working for your own business. I practiced this for over two decades. At times even I questioned this, why I am working this hard for others? Low and behold 30 years later I am walking out the door on a week day at 6AM to do what I enjoy most from a very comfortable position in life.

Are their corrupt rich people? Of course! Are their corrupt socialists? Of course! Are their good rich people? Absolutely! Are there good socialists? Absolutely! The president of this country Uruguay is exemplary. Even if I do not agree with him he has lived his words as far I know and I honor that.

But down here South America we get allot of this Anti Rich propaganda from people that don’t even bother pick up the trash in front of their houses. We get allot of the same in the USA from the same types of people. I will tell you one thing I am not rich or comfortable because I am filthy Pajarito.

:) You poor poor thing.....i'm sure you'll find out that the Argentines are a truck load of laughs!!! all happy happy joy joy hahahaaha ,Come down and live here for 5 years, then maybe you can have an educated opinion......... we had people like you in this forum before..... they are not longer here....they just vanished before actually coming around to the idea or knowledge that many things we talk about here are right on the money..... but then again you've already passed judgement on all of us..and some don't appreciate being prejudged before hand, myself being one of them.So , if that's gonna be your attitude ..... que te garue finito pelotudo pero con toda la onda viste?

I'm still here after 5 years, running a business and loving it. And Buenos Aires IS a truck full of laughs, culture, art, music, good times and good people. I can't think of anywhere I would rather be no matter how rich I was. I decided to stay because (for my life style) BA was the best city in the world. It still is! It may not be the best place to build a career or a secure family unit, but it is an amazingly active, vibrant and sociable place to live. When my guests come to this city they are amazed by the variety of things they can take in in one day and also by how much culture is sponsored by the government. I have heard many complaints from the porteños but being bored was never one of them. Live and let live, but don't tell me that because I like it here I am an idiot! I find that very insulting!!!
