THE KILLKENNY 60 peso two pints wtf

Actually the artesnal beer situation in BsAs is excellent, but you have to know where to find them. As an IPA and stout lover myself, I have found a decent range of flavours in and around the city. The Gibraltar, on Peru in San Telmo has a decent range, Antares & Gambrinus, the latter brewer...

    Who are the future BAEXPATS?

Still here as well, and whilst I am heading back to ireland in October, along with my Argentine Partener, I will only be "home" for 6 months to sort personal things out (and see my son married) before returning for the long haul. Still love it here, maybe because I don't live in the hub of the...

    Hi Guys

As a fellow Irishman, and having been here for 2 years, with my Argentine Girlfriend, they aren't THAT bad - far from it... You'll find a pretty vibrant, if small, Irish community here as well, which will help - You do find you need the cultural references at times, just to keep your sanity -...

    Going to Brasil to visit

Aside from the Visa, not required for me, did you manage to get cheap flights anywhere, as I want to go to Rio before Xmas, and am having problems getting a decent airfare. Cheers.

    Casi intomable

Wrong - The Guinness you buy here, IS Brewed in Dublin, and shipped here. As is the Guinness in the US.... All brewed back home..... Down Town Matias (at least the one in the Design Centre) serves a pretty good pint of draught Guinness.

Been down here 3 months and got beat-up & mugged

I guess it's perception, and where you live in the place. I live on the Sarandi side of Belgrano, and travel in and out off the city centre (Av city that is), daily, either by collectivo or on foot. Agree that there are parts nearer Dock Sud and teh river that are best avoided. Maybe I should...

Next Hash Run - Sunday 22nd May - SAN TELMO

What better way to blow away the cobwebs of a Saturday Night out, or one spent sat at home watching a film, than joining the BA Hash house Harriers for a trail around San Telmo..... The hash is an eclectic group of runners and walkers, of all ages and standards, varying nationalities, and all...

Been down here 3 months and got beat-up & mugged

Just want to sympathise with the OP about what happened on Sunday, but I do agree with Hellek about the negativity of some, Steve especially - I would take issue with Hellek's comment about Avellaneda. I have lived here for nearly two years now, and find it a perfectly safe place to live...

Why expats doesnt like get in love or get an argie partner?

As another ex-pat, this time Irish, with an Argentine Partner, I think the OP is wrong in his assumption about "us foreigners" and our relationships with Argentines. Many of the ex-pats I know that live here are married to, or in long-term relationships with, locals. Those that are not may have...

What's your Favorite (and Positive) "Only in Argentina" story?

I have had a lot of positives, some the same as mentioned above - The rounding down of payments when they don't have change is a regular thing... Living out of "tourist land", the smiles and delight that people give me when I talk to them in my bad Spanish, and they then want to spend the rest...
