Immigrating to the US with Argentine spouse?

My wife’s passport expired in the middle of the process as well. They were very accommodating they ask that we bring the old and the new to the interview. It didn’t cause any major hiccups. As I said, the entire thing, though long (18 months), was pretty painless if you followed the step by...

Immigrating to the US with Argentine spouse?

One more thing. If you have a scanner you can do almost everything online. The only things that required you to leave your house were: 1. The medical exam. That’s happens at the very end of the process 2. The police report. They didn’t like the online version we had to actually go get this...

I just completed the process in December. I did it the long way. I’m a us citizen and my wife is Argentine. We applied for her green card while living in Argentina. The whole process from application to interview took 18 months. After the interview they give you two/three months to enter the US...

Hello guys, Anyone know how taxes/AFIP work when we buying a car cash? I can't get financing, because i have no job and no financial presence in Argentina. So I have to buy it cash. But i have been told that buying a car cash will bring some kind of scrutiny from AFIP. Not sure what that...

    Money transfer issue anyone?

It might have to do with the person’s taxable status with afip. I am able to send to my wife no problem. But none of my accounts work. Transaction cancelled every time. My wife works “en blanco” and I’m an expat with no financial presence. That might be the difference. Before last week all I...

    Money transfer issue anyone?

I’ve tried to send to 3 different accounts with varying amounts using MoneyGram. All transactions were cancelled. The message was the same for each, that the transaction was not accepted by the recipient institution. I’m suspecting this must be something the government is doing. There have...

Getting USD out on the ATM

I feel like these questions must have been answered before but I could not find the exact answers. So please forgive me if I’m asking for repition. If you have an Argentinian USD savings account: 1. Are there ATMs in CABA that will give you USD? If so which ones? 2. Do you have to have an...

    Western Union money transfer

Paying for a flight with Brubank can be problematic depending on the cost of ticket. Brubank has a 200,000 peso daily purchase limit. Depending on where you’re going that may not be enough to cover your ticket. I ran into this problem several times and just had to buy the ticket using a US...

    Who are buying houses?

So then I don't understand the math. Unless I am mistaken about wages in buenos aires. I admit I am very ignorant to the economics of Argentina, but people just don't seem to make enough money to buy anything listed. and if that's the case who are buying these houses?

    Who are buying houses?

So I'm looking on zonaprop at houses, something with 3 bedrooms and a little backyard space where we can raise two boys. The prices of the listings are the same if not more than homes listed in Miami. Is that right? And if so, who are buying these houses? From what I gather, very few people...
