Any opinions on health insurance, Eurosalud and Hopital Italiano?

In the public hospitals training is exemplary. BA is full of european medical students doing placement years here, and without exception everyone I've spoken to has said that the staff are incredibly well trained and competent. In public hospitals there's a lack of equipment, and you have to buy your own drugs, dressings, and any other requirements. Friend broke his leg in a car crash recently, and his family had to go out and buy the pins for his leg before they could operate.

Private care has the same level of training, plus the most modern equipment technology has to offer, and a higher doctor to patient ratio than you'll find in europe or the US and for far lower costs.

There's lots to like about the system here.

This question might be stupid...but...just so I know. I have Italian citizenship....can I go to Hospital Italiano without a plan? Thx.
I don´t think it is possible to do that, however you should call them and ask. I do know they have special programs for Italian citizens though.
