I just need to know that I am right and that there is no other way :

We have 2 imacs, one with pasword, the other without. 2 laptops, one with and one without pasword.
We were out of town last thursday and friday, and on these days we see on the 'history' of safari (of the one without pasword) : a lot of pornsites have been watched/visited. The only person who was here was the maid.
The kids had taken the laptops with them. The other computer has a password.

Mondayevening we see in the history of my daughters laptop (which for once she didn't take to school and that does not have pasword), the same sites. My son never takes his laptop but has a pasword. He does not have anything in his history that is not his.

So no one ever entered the 2 computers with pasword.
The internet is secured with a (complicated) pasword.

I think there is no other way then that the maid did it. She denies. We accused her of lying.

There is no other way, is there? Someone from outside can not just use these computers from outside, right?
She did abuse the confidence we had in her, didn't she?

I would like to know if I'm right... thanks!

Statistically, watching porn sites is done by males...

Too bad you already accused your maid because you could have downloaded a program -if your laptop has a webcam in it- to take pictures every 30 seconds or so (could be a funny pic btw ).

Nobody from the outside can use your browser on your laptop but someone could have hijacked it though. Even if hijacked, I don't think you would find acticity in the browser's history.

If it's not the maid, and if it's a male, it's either your husband/son, or a male friend of your maid...

Reading again, if you were all out of town and left the maid for 48 hours in your apt or she has the keys, eventually she comes with a BF ?
Watching porn is 95% of the times done by a male

You can try to analyze as well the keywords used in google : do they seem to come from someone who knows how to speak english or spanish ?

It's a female, the sites are female porn sites (didn't know they existed ), and some of the sites are 'mujer busca hombres'... that says enough right?

she said she didn't bring anyone, and I believe her (her mom works downstairs and is checking her daughter too much), the neighbor downstairs also said she would know if she brought someone. The encargado would tell.

On monday she did it again and I was coming and going all day, so she coundn't have brought anyone in.

My 14 year old daughter still looks away when people make love in some romantic movie (I suppose that will change soon ) so you can imagine how shocked she was... She (and I too) is completely disgusted by the maid now...

The sites are Spanish.

Well, then it's very likely her indeed... Problem is not having a definitive proof.

It's not the best of introductions for your daughter, sorry.

Not to defend your maid but it seems she didn't do it to cause you harm, and reading that her mother checks on her too much, she might be horrified as well by what she has done.
Could she possibly admit it ? no

I suppose not, well, the girl is 21, has never been married, no boyfriend, and has a 5 year old daughter who tells her what to do. She needs her mom to check up on her, as she is just a child herself.

I am sure she didn't mean any harm, but still, a computer is full of private stuff... and she's (wel we are) lucky apple does not have virusses!

We've been a bit hard on her but she is really a good maid and I don't think I can find any other like her. But I need to be able to trust her completely.

That's why I asked this confirmation.

This is interesting. I agree with French Jurist you should've have waited to accuse her and searched through other options to see if you could have caught her in the act. It's a catch 22 for you. All you have are your speculations but you cannot be 100% sure it was her. Web browsers can be hijacked. More than likely it was her but do you really want to fire a good employee, especially in Argentina, over a "more than likely" not so serious offense?

I would wait to try and get more proof. Next time don't approach her or any other employee until you have infallible proof. What you have now is all circumspect.

One thing you haven't mentioned at all is whether or not you think your maid has very good computer skills. A lot of people have no idea how to use a search engine, is it possible that she was looking for a dating site and instead found porn, and then her curiosity was peaked?

Mujer busca hombres is a pretty innocent sounding search, but the results that would get returned from that are not, so maybe she just doesn't know how to use a search engine.

If she is typing something more overt, yeah that's different.

Really though, I suspect your maid is not someone that uses a computer very often, and humans being what we are, porn occupies the largest amount of content on the web. It really wouldn't surprise me if this is someone that doesn't get much access to a computer in private would look up porn, if only just to see if what they say about there being tonnes of porn on the web is true.

French Jurist is right though, the numbers will definitely favor men for porn. Are we sure someone isn't letting the maid take the fall for their browsing interests?
