Attention Expats: Peanut Butter Alert!

DAME MANI ingredientes: Mani tostado, azucar, aceite vegetal sin grasa trans (de canola, algodon y soja), sal
JIF : Made from roasted peanuts and sugar, contains 2% or less of molasas, fully hydrogenated vegetable oils (rapeseed and soybean) mono and diglycerides, salt.
They both seem similar.
To say that "real peanut butter is 100% real peanuts, nothing else" sounds questionable. How does it become peanut BUTTER?

Peanut butter is a food paste made from ground dry roasted peanuts, which is sold as either "crunchy" or "smooth" variety. Major consumer brand peanut butter contains hydrogenated vegetable oil to stabilize it and prevent oil separation, salt to prevent spoilage, and dextrose and other sweeteners to enhance taste. Peanut butter marketed as Natural, or Organic, might only contain peanuts and salt.

I don't mind the oil separating from the peanut paste. It takes about 5 extra seconds to stir it back in.

I also just got in a shipment of Hershey's Kisses, both solid chocolate and chocolate with Almonds. And yes.......these are made in the US so the chocolate is just like back home (for those of you from the US). Many Hershey's products sold here are made from Brazilian chocolate, which is also good but doesn't taste the same as the chocolate people from the US are used to.

So today a trekked in the rain all the way down Santa Fe and found the store. They do in fact have peanut butter, but not necessarily the kind posted by the OP. What they have is Peter Pan and Planters peanut butter and BOTH are crunchy. So if you are a fan of creamy, don't bother going. :-(
