Banned from entry for 8 years

Would I be disallowed to apply for a tourist visa at an Argentinian consulate I wonder?
I am 99.999% certain that they would not have the power to override the ban on entry that you just recieved in Argentina.

I think veronica's suggestion is your best hope. Before reading her post I had no idea that marriage from a distane was possible.

I suppose that or marrying in say Uruguay would be the only route

I haven't looked at the link Veronica provided, but if it provides a way to get married "from a distance" and that marriage will be recognized in Argentina as well as provide a reasonbly "quick" manner to get the ban on entry removed, it may be your best option.

You would both be tourists in Uruguay, so be sure that it is possible to get married there, knowing in advance about how long it would take for you to be able to enter Argentina.

You have probably already thought of this. When you have more information, please let us know.

Next time you try to enter Argentina as a tourist with your partner engagement ring in your bag ,,,,, keep your advice to your self.

SHOCKING first post.
Left us wild guessing and speculating

BAexpats is above your accusations.
I’m not sure I follow. I’ve represented my situation in good faith to twofold seek advice and give a case study to the forum. I never mentioned having an engagement ring until I was in the boarding area with the immigration official awaiting my return flight having been denied entry. Before being denied entry the only information I provided was the address of my accommodation

Don't worry about it. So far, Arge has commented on three things and misread all of them. First by saying you said you didnt pay the overstay fee, which you did (and how can anyone not pay it?). Second by saying your mistake was claiming family reunion (which you didn't do and never occured to you to do--Arge failed to see that the family reunion idea was raised by another poster, not by you). Finally, this time, by reacting to a post by me and somehow concluding it was a post by you.

(The fact remains that in 2025 you did start a thread here asking whether to overstay, and received answers including the very commonly provided advice on this site: "just overstay, it won't be a problem". Your case shows that advice to have been wrong.)

Thank you for the affirmation. My mind is still terribly frazzled so I want to be sure I’m being as clear and precise with my experience as possible and I have neither desire nor intention to be in any way misleading or dishonest. This forum has been invaluable to me over the years and I feel duty to pay the same respect.

With respect to the overstay pay it’s indeed visible from my post history with me confirming paying the overstay fee upon exit in June 2025

I remember my rookie years when I didn't know what a DNI is for? Can't remember how many endless times the Colonia run every 89 days.

1.It was you the first who speculated on the Overstay fee. So I commented on the Overstay fee literally.

2.I said the exact opposite. You're confused.

3. I replied and quoted your post not @Vessos post. I was directing it to you not to @Vessos. Was not a mistake.

Collective experience in this forum are from actual real life lessons. Nothing to minimize.

First step is to brutally (without any sugar coating) identify clearly and exactly the problem. How, where and why things went wrong.

You can solve a problem only after you identify it.
Hopefully speeding up the road to happy ending.

Oooooooooooooops
Forgot to specifically direct this to @Alby. To be safe side.

To be frank, your replies and analysis are coming across more incoherently than you seem to be interpreting others responses

Yes, I gave my airbnb address and my flights were booked 10 days apart. Interestingly the ban seems to be 8 years from my last exit as opposed to today and I visited for just 2 weeks just 2 months ago
You can appeal it at the Consulate or here at Federal Contencioso Administrativo Courts and then you can come back. You have a shorts dead line.
