Can Anyone Possibly Think This Is A Good Idea?

Argentina is always such a victim booo fuckin hoo
When the allied ask for Argentina's help in ww2 ,they lined up with the third reich lol and you think England and the US are gonna forget about that?
Who betrayed who?

I doubt Chile would allow such an atrocity to occur on their territory! If the Chinese need this in the southern hemipshere, do you think Australia or New Zealand would ever allow this? Maybe they should try Zimbabwe or Congo!

Actually, Chile does host the European Southern Observatory. Space endeavors do necessitate international cooperation, just because of the way our planet and its countries are shaped.

They chose their allies wisely, Britain was a more useful ally than a murderous regime of unhinged maniacs.

Surely you should be glad, Baja Control, that the junta lost and the US didn't prop them up?

Betray is a strong word suggesting the US and Argentina were actually allies. The US might have been/was influencing the politics throughout South America but was it ever on the side of the Junta?

May be Bajo Cero is referring to USA giving the position of Crucero Gral. Belgrano. I think it is not betrayal cause we were not allies but hard to belive it´s friendly.

The Carter administration actively opposed the junta. The Reaganites loved them, though, until Maggie Thatcher became involved.

Whilst they unequivocally were allies of Thatcher who faced pressure from Socialists and CDN campaigners at home, Britain was always a more important strategic ally than the unhinged loonies in Argentina. Winning the war saved the neck of la pirata, Argentina winning would have had more severe implications in Europe than the US would have stomached.

It's not always about Argentina!

Hardly surprising the US would side (albeit discretely) with the UK seeing how many US bases were and are in the UK if not the sharing of common cultural aspects.
