CFK guilty, sentenced to 6 years imprisonment

Fascinating to watch the television and see how both TN y LN+ stopped broadcasting CFK's presentation when she started talking about the chats. And in so doing, they missed the big news: she announced she won't be a candidate for any position next year!

Embarrassing. Now they have to try and play catchup.
Ok, speed things up for everyone then Cris:

But strange how all the other channels covered the whole diatribe in full yet those two channels just happened to run out of patience at exactly the same moment, and just as the bosses' name started to be mentioned.

That (the trip) is a separate issue and I hope it will be pursued to the fullest extent possible, the same thing I've always wanted for Cristina and her merry band of thieves. Ironically not something that her fanatical followers are in agreement with.

The most hilarious part of it was that TN cut off the diatribe switch to Feinmann running the argument that the trippers were victims of illegal espionage, thereby silencing the part of the diatribe in which CFK showed the chats where the trippers talked about how they would get their media operatives to run the line about illegal espionage.

(I'm no fan of CFK or her governments, but the so-called press and the so-called journalists in this country are embarrassing.)

I think a lot of Ks don't understand that it's a "Yes and [insert non-K crime here]." People are so blinded by a cult of personality that they refuse to consider that both Cristina and non-Ks can and are guilty of crimes.

While I fully believe/admit there are people that think only Cristina is guilty, I've met far more people who think she's just one of many corrupt Argentine politicians.

That being said, this isn't unique to Argentina though, you have people in the US that bitch about Donald Trump's corruption, but then blush if you say "Yup, send him and Nancy Pelosi to jail together." as she's got a long history of insider trading; people have selective moral outrage when it's crimes committed by someone they like.

Anyways, flash forward 6 years from now and my money is on this being a Amado Boudou like situation where people just don't care and have no qualms being around him now. It's a big club and we ain't in it.

It shouldn't be too hard for intelligent people to walk (see powerful groups colluding in plain sight in self-interest on one side of the grieta) and chew gum (see CFK's corruption in plain sight on the other side) at the same time. That is the benefit of being a foreigner here.

Argentina is a tale of two mafias battling it out. Nada más, nada menos. River vs. Boca, if you will. The only thing that really changes as it ebbs and flows from one to another is their integrants net worths.

Exactly. When people have asked me the dreaded question about what I think (who's side I'm on), I have used the River/Boca analogy. I was working in Paraguay a few years ago and somebody (a foreigner, but who knew a lot but could see things from a reasonably neutral position) explained the Colorados versus Liberales politics as nothing more than two tribes who have been fighting for 200 years. Once I got my head around that, things became a lot clearer. And then politics (and society more generally) in other countries around here (Argentina, in particular) started to make more sense.

So where's the proof that Macri's govt was as corrupt as the Kirchners'? Have there been serious charges made in that respect?

I think it's just too easy to say they're all the same.

Two-party political system? How refreshing :)
