Clinton - Trump Live Debate Monday Sept. 26 Th.

The election could be decided by foreign nationals who have been told that it's it's OK to vote (without criminal repercussions) because they are citizens.

It has been against federal law for non-citizens to vote in federal elections since 1976, but why should the POTUS know that...and why should this one care?

Do you have a source for that that's not a YouTube video?

Do you have a source for that that's not a YouTube video?

Good question.

Here is a link to an article that says the video was edited to create a false impression: http://www.mediaite....grants-to-vote/

This is from the transcript of the conversation (as quoted in the article):

RODRIGUEZ: Many of the millennials, Dreamers, undocumented citizens — and I call them citizens because they contribute to this country — are fearful of voting. So if I vote, will immigration know where I live? Will they come for my family and deport us?

OBAMA: Not true.. And the reason is, first of all, when you vote, you are a citizen yourself. And there is not a situation where the voting rolls somehow are transferred over and people start investigating, etc. The sanctity of the vote is strictly confidential in terms of who you voted for. If you have a family member who maybe is undocumented, then you have an even greater reason to vote."

[background=rgb(252, 252, 252)]Rodriguez first made a statement about non-citizens being fearful.of voting and then asked two questions [/background]

[background=rgb(252, 252, 252)]The first one applied to her as an individual voter, The second question applied to her non-citizen family members as well as herself.[/background]

The President did not point out the fact that non-citizens could not vote in the presidential election, only that her vote would be confidential and immigration would not be informed.

Perhaps it's necessary to "read between the lines" of Obama's answer to understand it's meaning.

[background=rgb(252, 252, 252)]I don't think it would bother Obama in the least if non-citizens are actually allowed d to vote.[/background]

And it would not bother Trump one bit either, if non-citizens voted for him. It was never about "right or wrong" and it was all about "does this benefit me or not". That applies for both parties.

[background=rgb(252, 252, 252)]Not very long ago one member of this forum compared Trump to Mussolini.[/background]

[background=rgb(252, 252, 252)]This YouTube video [/background]reminds me of another European leader who actually met and "worked" with Mussolini

I'm listening to election returns tonight online at http://www.democracynow.org/

Their roundtable discussion includes Green party candidate Jill Stein, John Nichols who writes for The Nation, a Columbia University professor, and Ralph Nader.
