Countdown To Default!

How Argentina Became a Bad Debtor

Excellent article that explains how we got to where we are today. I strongly recommend reading it.
Any article which critisize Argentina is 'vulpure fopraganda!!!"

The kirchnerist nationalistic mentality is based on H.C. Andersen: "What the Old Man Does Is Always Right" and "Recht oder Unrecht mein Vaterland".

Fortunately there are a huge number of Argentines see it quite differently and curse their idiot government.

I would also like to know.
It's all very well to comment from one's own safe and comfy ivory tower, dissing others as loonies.
You have a very rude and anti social attitude Don Alberto.

No matter what one thinks about this Default it will take votes from CFK's Party or the successor

I keep seeing a lot of comments about vultures and who is right etc etc. I am left wondering how it came to be that there are so many 'laws' people seem to consider morally wrong. would Argentina be a vulture if it owned some bonds from another country that had the same clauses?
People make laws, people write clauses, people sign contracts. It takes two at least to sign a contract.

All that said I can't help but cheer for the underdog!

Good question (asked since centuries).

Law without morality, is it Justice?

I think that depends upon the impact on daily lives here. So far, it is being promoted by CFK et al as a victory over the oppressive USA. The vast majority of people are very uneducated about most any subject and buy what they are told if they like the government. If they don't like the government they reject anything they are told no matter the reason.

The worst case scenario here is that the default drags on, there is another devaluation, inflation starts pumping up, services and products become scarce, more subsidies are cut, and people can't pay their bills. Then we'll have a real problem. In each of these successive steps CFK's popularity will drop..

Crisis management until the end of the year it is then.

Does anyone have any solid information on the status of the banking sector's attempts to club together and keep the country solvent?

Thanks to those posting actual information and not, ...ahh, let's not.

Really believed the the AR bank deal would fly, but friction is suggested between Central Bank president, Juan Carlos Fabrega and Kicillof, which has been going on for some time:

Using Laclau's Theory a culprit has been selected, Griesa is Guilty!

Capitanich said that both the judge and the special master appointed to facilitate talks are "agents of the vulture funds" seeking "a gain of 1608%." Even accused Pollack of being "incompetent"for failing to bring talks to fruition.
