COVID-19 vaccine development pipeline gears up

Well, the main issue with "conventional" vaccines is that these inject a neutralized/dead version of the virus. That requires YEARS of research and safety profiling, while the manufacturing process is very very long.

This is not "conventional" in 2020.

I don't think anybody actually considers going this way with current advances of biotechnology. Years of research to grow some shit that grows naturally and you need to stop it? In the 30ies they had grown typhus bacteria in chicken eggs, no problems with manufacturing. But once again it just does not make sense now.

What happened? In 1976 a Corona Virus vaccine resulted in paralysis for some people. This rushed vaccine scares me

Seriously? There was a coronavirus vaccine back in 1976?

Yes. A soldier at a base in the US died of this influenza and the Ford administration overreacted. They rushed a vaccine into production. A lot of people suffered severe side effects. Some were paralyzed. You probably can't get access to the entire article but this will let you read a bit and you can research it: https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/...fers-lesson-in-the-dangers-of-haste-tvmdcdt50

A vaccine normally takes YEARS to develop. This one is being developed in fighting speed and it's scary.
