  • White House coronavirus advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci that the chances of scientists creating a highly effective vaccine — one that provides 98% or more guaranteed protection — for the virus are slim.
  • Scientists are hoping for a coronavirus vaccine that is at least 75% effective, but 50% or 60% effective would be acceptable, too, he said.
  • The FDA has said it would authorize a coronavirus vaccine so long as it is safe and at least 50% effective.

Click on the blue link and you can read the entire article. It is not encouraging. The point is that this virus is going to be with us for a LONG time. We will have to adjust. Indefinite lockdowns are not realistic.

Johnson & Johnson would test its coronavirus vaccine in Argentina
The pharmaceutical company Janssen, from Johnson & Johnson, intends to incorporate Argentina as a new setting to test its vaccine against the coronavirus. Phase III trials, which globally will comprise 60,000 volunteers, will also be conducted in South Africa, the United States, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru.
Although the negotiations are open and the approval of ANMAT still remains, the company estimates that the tests of the vaccine against Covid-19 could begin in the country in September of this year....

Unfortunately that reminds me of this infamous meme/ post that was recently doing the rounds. One has to wonder...
