Dating In Argentina / Dating Argentine Men

Only a few of the ladies ever published prices on the web Those that do are typically in the $800 range for the hour (at least the last time I looked).

800 pesos????????
800 pesos for a few minutes of passionless intimacy with a complete stranger that may or may not be carrying some serious STDs sounds like a very expensive deal to me. I always imagined that prostitution was much cheaper than that.

The hotels, especially the four and five star hotels like the Alvear and the Hyatt have arrangements with the cabarets. They make a commission to send clients to the cabarets. I have two friends that work in them, and one is a waitress one is an escort. Expect to pay in dollars in a cabaret where they have strippers, tango dancers, singers and other entertainment. If you go to one of those dirty whiskey bars you pay in pesos for what is generally a young girl from Paraguay or Bolivia or an Argentine that can't get work in an upsacle cabaret. Argentines with money do pay $2,000 and $3,000 pesos. If not my friend wouldn't have two cars and a new house in Nordelta.

The oldest rule of the Gentleman’s code is that a gentleman does not kiss and tell.

Is that the girl asking or the shrink?

I don't think a man going to a pro is super manly its pretty sad and I genuinely don't think for one second all argentine men are the same... And anyway how has a thread on dating turned into a debate on prostitution..... ?????

Perhaps going to a pro (having to pay) isn't super manly.

Then again, most men do pay for sex, one way or another.

I don't consider "super manly" a complimentary exp<b></b>ression in the first place.

It just sounds like "super macho" to me.

I'm going to avoid commenting on the prostitution debate and instead thank the OP for her question.

And also steveinbas for the links! What a hilarious bunch of threads!

I don't have much to say about dating Argies, but one thing I've noticed is that the drinking culture is different.

Back when the rates were $200 an hour in the whiskey bars you could walk down Av Florida and someone would hand you a small piece of paper which offered sex for $50 pesos (if not less). I have no idea what the women looked like or how they would manage to get more dinero for their services, but I have a hunch that the price on the inside would be higher. I once posted about this and agreed the cost of an SDT would be much greater than the hour of sex.

I don't think all Argentine men are the same, but most argie guys who would "date" an expat gal are probably not to take her home to meet mom and dad. At least some of the Argentine men who are in relationships/and or are married would be happy to also "date" a foreigner, but I don't think it's an unfair generalization to assert that their primary goal would be to have sex with her asap. Then she would be the one taking the biggest risk. Some of the Argentine men (certainly not all) do have sex with prostitutes and I'm sure they lie about it to their girlfriends, wives, and foreign ladies they're hoping to score with as well.

A foreign woman asking about dating in Argentina should know about the casual attitude many (if not most) Argentine men (including those in their early 20's) have regarding sex, including having sex with other girls even if they are "in" a relationship as well as with "cheaper" prostitutes (available in bars or on line) since they are the easiest ones to have sex with. They are not meeting "escorts"s in cabarets or having sex with them in upscale hotels.

If I remember correctly, at least one of the threads in the list I posted include comments about Argentine men being jealous and possessive. In another thread (earlier this year) a member posted a story about being hit over the head with a champagne bottle by an argie a-hole who became violent after the expat (who happened to be gay) offered to share his champagne with an argie couple sitting at the bar. I think he was chatting with the argie's girlfriend and was hit when the super macho argie came back from the men's room (?). This is also something expat gals considering dating argie men should keep in mind.

I have an expat woman friend who's just over 50. She's also brilliant and gorgeous, She became involved with an argie guy and broke up with him after a couple years. She moved and hadn't seen him for a while. They ran into each other by chance and he tried to rekindle the relationship. She wasn't interested. He apparently couldn't accept that.

I don't know the exact circumstances, but I do know that he became violent and broke her arm.

That has to break the Gentleman's Code as well.

I was wondering the same. I guess people like talking about what is on their mind more than listening and responding to someone else.

From my experience as a man (watching other men approach women), Argentinian men appear to be more pushy in the sense that I am used to give women their freedom, because someone who is pushy in my home country gets fried (since it would imply selfishness rather than care). It appears to me that if you are not pushy (as a man) in Argentina, you often find an Argentine between you and the woman. I do not know if the Argentinian strategy works over here, though at least women appear to accept that a guy imposes his presence and pushes the woman and others in the background.

I got a funny quote from an Argentine woman who said that it is normal for guys to pay the bills, only if you are a couple you would split the bill. In my country guys would only pay the bills if they are a couple, otherwise the women would take it as an offence.
