Guillo, only to say that European models are not a solution. In France you must have a piece of paper to get any kind of job; they have less unemployment than Spain, but the system is so rigid that you cannot go outside the track that you choosed (or not) when you were 18 years old, it is difficult to reinvent yourself. Of course there is unemployment payments and a lot of help, but if you cannot apply for certain jobs because you were not in the right College when you were 18, all the help is not useful. I think we must take our own latinamerican way, maybe more cooperatives, anything so we don´t get so individualistic and consumist as the Europeans.

(I don´t even consider the Chinese model -shudder- or the American one -SupersizeMe!)

I don't mean that we need to carbon copy any of those models. But I do believe that something close to that is the proper way to go. Or anyway, closer to that than to the American hardcore capitalist model

Re : Scandinavian countries

Indeed they are quite a model, even in terms of democracy.

I'll temper though this example by the fact that at least for some of the Scandinavian countries, they benefit from oil revenues (makes it easier to spend into social programs).

Also, one negative aspect to mention about those countries : the idea of spending time in a sauna with blond women is rather unpleasant. :p

I've been around the area some years ago, the geography is gorgeous.
