Fiber Supplements Needed

I do Metamucil every two or three months. I use Amazon, Thre is no import tax beyond the VAT 21% or so. I want it, I need it, so pay for it. That is that. Forget ML...it is much more expensive. Local fiber supplements end up costing more.
I just tried to order Metamucil from Amazon and every choice I looked at said they wouldn't ship to Argentina. Do you have an Amazon link you used recently? Thanks!

Psyllium powder I think it's about 50k pesos a kilo in Argentina, and about $50/kg in Canada, so similar priced.

The stuff in the purple bag here is a more expensive here. Netanyahu may work out cheaper per kg, but it has other stuff in, so I think it's more per kg of fiber.

Maybe you can find it cheaper in a herboristería near you (no shipping required).

My wife enjoys the low carb diet, but it tends to be low fiber as well, which aggravates her chronic digestive issues. To counteract this, she drinks water with chia seeds as well as a topping on her daily yogurt.

Chia seeds are good and accessible, but also calorie dense. So just need to be mindful depending on your diet.
Also, I think you need to give them time to absorb the moisture prior to consuming.

I had no idea chia seeds were calorie dense! They're seeds! I never thought they'd have any calories. I give my husband 2 teaspoons of Metamucil mixed in apple juice, then two teaspoons of Chia seeds mixed in apple juice. I was told to wait 10-15 minutes for the Chia seeds to absorb liquid before ingesting. He takes some medicine that binds him up, but the mix of Chia seeds and Metamucil keep his system working normally. I also read you shouldn't take Metamucil and/or Chia seeds within 2 hours of taking medications as they can absorb the medication, so he has his meds at 9am, then I give him the Metamucil and Chia seeds at noon.

Thanks for the link to the psyllium husk powder. I'll also try looking for it or something similar at New Garden!

Ya here is some nutritional info.
But I guess it depends on the dose.

3 tablespoons would net 110 calories (minus 40 calories for the 10 g of fiber).
So thats 36 Cal/tablespoon, or 12 Cal/teaspoon.

Its not as bad as I thought if you're doing those lower dosages.

I guess the question is a teaspoon or two sufficient, seems like it is in your case with the Metamucil. And then calories probably aren't really an issue.

I usually took more, probably ~2-3 Tablespoons when I would take them.
They are certainly easier to find while traveling though.
