Yes, they take inflation and interest into account, but I don´t live in Argentina now and the devaluation will sting a lot.
 
I was slightly wrong.
It only took him about three years apparently and they paid out around 30kUSD with interest. He had a good lawyer and apparently has been doing the same for his wife, but for longer.
