Medicus Plan Celeste for one person is now 372K.
Sergio's comment that started this thread in December 2023 read "Rates are up substantially due to deregulation", this is coincidentally when I have started paying my prepaga, and it was under 100K. Fast forward one year and a half and now I pay close to 400% more... Insane.
As I am reasonably in good health I am pondering the idea of dropping it and paying out of pocket for all my medical expenses (which have been mostly routine exams and little more), but on the other hand I am afraid about what could happen in case of a catastrophic illness or injury.
Does anyone know if there is a reputable insurance out there that covers only in those particular instances?
I have heard that global traveler's insurances such as SafetyWings are very difficult to deal with when push comes to shove.
