How much more are you paying for your health (prepaga) insurance?

Johnny, it seems that those not included in the initial list that believe their companies are involved in this sort of practice are asked to file a complaint. Seems an uphill climb as is typical with bureaucracy but you may very well wait a bit for others to file against the Italiano.

From another article (I'm loosely translating English) they state:

"Although the recent government measure affects numerous prepaid medicine companies, benefiting a large part of the Argentine population, there are users whose companies are not included in this regulation. These users, who are outside the scope of the provision, can file a complaint with the National Commission for the Defense of Competition (CNDC) if they suspect anti-competitive conduct on the part of their health providers."

To make the complaint it is necessary to submit a document with the following information:

Your name and address.
The name of the person who you consider has committed an infringement of the Competition Law.
The object of the complaint, saying it exactly.
The facts considered, explained clearly.
The right on which you base the complaint, succinctly stated;
The offer of the means of proof that you consider conducive to the analysis of the complaint.

All pages, both those of the complaint and those of the attached documentation, must be signed by the person presenting it. Once presented, the National Commission for the Defense of Competition will summon the presenter to ratify it and the corresponding minutes will be drawn up.

How to do it:
Enter the 'Tramites A Distancia' (TAD) platform with your CUIT and level 2 tax code. In the case of a human person, enter using the DNI or CUIT corresponding to the person who will make the report. In the case of a legal entity, enter with the cuit of the complaining legal entity.

Start the process by entering “Presentation for Alleged Anticompetitive Conduct” and validate your data.

Complete the corresponding form.

Attach the corresponding documentation. In some cases it is mandatory.

Select "Confirm procedure".

Once the file is confirmed, in the “My procedures” tab you will be able to verify its creation and track the procedure.
is that all?

is that all?
haha I'm just here to share information with people that might find it helpful and respond to questions that were asked. Not for everyone, but if those that are seeking a bit of relief from rising healthcare costs (that are complained about at length in this very feed) feel so inclined, I simply dropped the pertinent information on how to file a complaint/inquiry above. Just the ol' facts. So, that is...indeed, all. Not rocket science but not something everyone wants to dive into, seeing as how it takes effort. Chances are, someone will file for the companies that weren't included in this first set of complaints anyhow. I like to try and offer solutions and updates when I see them. It's up to each individual whether they feel the urge to rectify their grievances through the means available.

I don't know who does the front-page graphics for Pagina12, but whoever it is, they have a wicked sense of humor. Given his comments on the subject of Socialists, including when he called them "un excremento humano", I can think of few things that would infuriate him more. Link to story below picture.

Anyhow, the gist of the story, aside from the overly dramatic picture, is the re-regulation of prepaid medical plans.

The usual Google Translate deal, banner is in Castellano and story will initially appear in that tongue, but wait a few seconds and it will change to English.

Very good!

OSDE is on the list as well, let's see what happens. At the top of the list is Swiss Medical, with its CEO who I've seen referred to as "Doctor Death" Oh dear. But at least the government has a plan, right? 🤔

I do not think it is more expensive than the USA but keep in mind the following:

OSDE 450 is essentially a "Cadillac" plan; there are no extra costs other than the monthly payment, the most doctors accept the plan, and if you need to be hospitalized you get a private room at all the best private hospitals. Plastic surgery is included in the plan once every two years, teeth whitening is included once every two years, and it comes with very useful travel insurance at no additional cost.

I have insurance with hospital italiano. It has gone up, I'm paying around 300usd per month. Very happy with it overall.

This is the full slate of international coverage. Good for travel outside Argentina for up to 90 days at a time; can be extended on a month by month basis for additional fee.
