Todays news: Government lowered the interest rate by 40 points. Dollar exchange rate up 5% on average. They have opened unrestricted food imports to lower local prices.

A friend of a friend of mine, just drove his car three hours, one way, to buy tires in Uruguay. Another example that this is a temporary aberration. Nothing is cheaper in Uruguay - not for long anyway....

Those are just my apartment building's fixed "expensas" - co-op fees. They just cover general building's maintenance - things like the doorman salary, elevator maintenance, water tank cleaning, monthly exterminator service, administrator;s fees, etc.

On top of that I must pay water, power, gas, WiFi, phone, and city tax bills.

This is an interesting discussion but it's from March. Wondering if someone might be able to share an update here? For folks who want to compare current prices & trends to previous years...

Hoping to come again in 2 months. Like BA. But at least for medical or dental it may not be as good as last year.....

We're in one of those rare 10% times when prices approach the US and Europe. Conversely, by Spring, I wouldn't be surprised if we were in one of those rare 10% times when Argentina is a super bargain.

Spring is here, and things are much worse than in March when you wrote this.

Medical expenses....the only bargain in this country
