1140 or 11.50 was quite common today

But the CUEVAS are getting a bit nervous about giving the "published rates" - the small places outside the city center are being very cautious and are trying to match what they buy with definite dollar buyers.

Thanks. None of the cuevas I use buy dollars at the published rate. Which always makes me wonder what the published rate is based on.

I'm sure there are good deals to be had hustling for the best price in Florida, but I'm not comfortable walking around with that much money...

A few days ago, in San Martín de los Andes, Cambio Andina said they would pay a rate of 10 pesos for US$50 and US$100 bills, but only the official rate for twenties and smaller.

Get real Joe ain't happening no one not even The Queen herself can stop illegal exchange or you with your AFIP buddies
With your train of thought after you help the villas and backfires on you,,,,,,what are you gonna propose next?? the final solution????
The Final Solution and the one I recommend to the government, is to require all transactions to be by Credit Card or the Moreno Card. This would serve two purposes:
  1. Reduce criminal activity
  2. Prevent Expats, the Argentine Bougeoisie and other criminals from using the Blue Dollar

I think the Gov't got your msg...at least the title, though missed the "blue" part.
I bet Capitanich is enjoying himself at his office. "No market to buy anything, no evasion, no subvencion al dolar! PERFECT!....I'm a genius B) "

You miss the point ....! If I sell the blue dollars deposit the pesos into my Arg account and use the CC for purchases ... sorry Joe no cigar...!

Brilliant idea! All it requires is that e.g. a 4 year old who wants to buy candy has a bank account and a credit card or Moreno Card.
Good thinking
