Kicillof Pays To 92% Of Bondholders, Griesa's Move Now?

A well known philanthropist,Singer donated more than $10 mm US to support same-sex marriages.

I know nothing about Singer but I heard he did it for his son; I think it was worthwhile but can he be considered a philanthropist because of this?
It might help to protect his fortune somehow too, I don't think somebody can be considered a philanthropist for donating a tip for his own benefit.

If Singer himself benefited, it was probably from a tax deduction. But if it was for a political purpose, that does not apply.

Adopted or biological grandson heir/s having 2 same-sex parents to take care of his N grandsons is not a benefit for Singer too?
I agree, with the political reason to influence the independence of powers with a donation, but not with him being a hero or philanthropist because of this; also, if the new law was approved it was not just because of him, countries like Argentina (where the same-sex marriage is allowed in the full country) probably influenced more than him.

Huh?

I find it marvellous that people who actually live in Argentina trust the words of a government, which told them that the inflation 2009 through 2013 was only 9 to 11 percent per year.

Well, there is Also people who trust a President who promest to close Guantánamo...but the one before said that there mass destruction weapons at Irak...

Don Alberto, No better example of "Y vos?!"

Argentina should have settled this years ago when the coffers were a lot more full. I don't like the decision but it does seem to uphold the law. And now they are rock/hard place and the funds have zero impetus to compromise since time and legalities are now all in their favor.

Don Alberto - with all due respect - what is "moral" about robbing the people of the below mentioned "economically challenged" countries?

Elliott Management, purchased $20.7 million worth of defaulted loans made to Peru for a discounted price of $11.4 million. Elliott Associates, holding the only portion of Peru's debt remaining outside the restructure, sued Peru and won a $58 million settlement—a 400% return

In 2008, Elliott Management bought $32.6 million in loan debt incurred by the Republic of Congo, allegedly for less than $2.3 million. In 2002 and 2003 a British Court awarded Elliott more than $100 million for these debts.
