looking for good bread

Somewhat off topic but it boggled my mind...
I live near the Exposition bakery on the corner of Juncal and Libertad and frequent the place almost every day for sandwiches, media lunas, and various baked goods especially desserts. I have found that its prices are fair despite the fact they have tracked inflation and perhaps even over compensated for it. They stay ahead of the curve.
I decided to make myself a homemade hamburger today so after purchasing the ground beef at Disco, I went to buy a single hamburger roll of normal size at Exposition. It cost 3.5 pesos. For one ordinary, small hamburger roll ...very much like the commercial packaged kind that come 8 to a package. I almost asked if I could rescind the purchase, but as I am a frequent customer I didn't want to make a big deal out of it. At the legal rate that is US 70 cents for a small roll. If that is typical, I am amazed how expensive such items are. How does a regular working stiff put bread on the table these days?

Bread is the cheapest thing to make, yet it can be crazy expensive in so many places. The shit bakery on the corner sells it for a crazy price, and it's stale and gross.

The best bread I've found is at the Le's: L'epi, Le Pain Quitidien, Le Ble. Brot also makes good bread, as does Malvon. Check out this list of good places to get bread (and other baked goods) in BA: http://pickupthefork.com/shopping-guide/

As for sourdough bread, I have yet to find it in BA, but you can make it yourself -- this site gives a good step by step how to do it: http://thestonesoup.com/blog/2010/10/rustic-sourdough-the-secret-to-making-amazing-bread-at-home-5-ingredients-simple-baking/#
