Prior to today, the breakout had the tone of cops and robbers, but now with the shooting this morning and an officer seriously wounded, one realises quite how dangerous these men really are.

Well, unlike so many figured, the men appeared alive and well at one point anyway, to the detriment of two cops. Damn Macri was stupid for not having killed them when he let them out of jail...

Yes but I am sure this is all somehow part of Macri/"Militar" Party/Dr. Evil/Mini Me/Voldemort/Darth Vader/Satan conspiracy to do something so evil that only Kirchnerista/La Campora angels can explain it to the rest of humanity and only they can save humanity from it...like they did for 12 years they were in power ( -_- ).

These guys are obviously crazy and stupid at the same time. As it seems, this was amateur break out, not some huge conspiracy. If it would be so, they would have a bit better plan to lay low and dissappear from the country... I didn't see any mentioning, but prison break outs are quite common in Argentina, no wonder for me.

I actually read somewhere that one of the guards didn't carry a gun because he was a jehovah witness and it was against his religion.....

In this day and age, how many prison breakouts end up successfully? (Where 'successful' means '6 months or more of a lifestyle approaching normalcy' - otherwise, what's the point?)

It's one thing if you're in Mexico, your name is Chapo Guzmán, and you know that half of the law enforcement in the country is on your payroll and the other half is afraid of their bodies being poured down the drain. Otherwise, in this day and age of instant communications, how many jail breakers can stay on the lam for any normal amount of time? And with severely curtailed privileges when they inevitably return.

They appear to be running from both the police and the people who want to silence them.
On that basis, I´d probably take my chances with the cops, which may explain why they haven't really gone that far.

Probably be hard to tell one from the other. They're likely feeling very lonely right now and pathologically afraid of people with large moustaches.

Martin Lanatta was a shooting instructor and his brother also. Well they got out the truck and shot the cops from like 8 meters away, 15 rounds with a shotgun,a pistol and a Valk rifle....?? More bullets where found on the ground...! They hit The male cop on the stomach once and the female once on one foot???? Two hits out of fifteen not much accuracy??
