I thought the US didn't like their permanent residents leaving the country for more than 6 months at a time? The one day every two years is how Argentina handles it, but I think US agents can give you a hard time if they consider that you've given up your permanent residency. I know my mother was advised to never stay out of the country more than a few months at a time, and she was/is married to an American.

- Fail to file income tax returns while living outside of the United States for any period
- Declare yourself a “nonimmigrant” on your tax returns
