There are four "rows" of tamarisco trees that begin 10 meters from the side of my house and run about 75meters to the other side of the property. I took this photo a year ago, about one year after cutting all of the old and very dense branches from the trunks. I was standing in front of my kitchen door when I took this photo. It had been impossible to walk through the "tunnels" created by the trees until then or for the sunlight to shine through them. There are a lot more branches on the trunks now and some of the ones that are two years old extend more than six feet from the base of the trees.

PS: What appears to be a large green bush in front of the white wall is actually the massive and very old base of a tamarisco tree that was cut down (but obviously not killed) well over ten years ago. If you turn right at the power pole in the distance you would encounter the open field where I took the photos of the cactus plants and flowers.

On the fourth or fifth day that I was clearing out the undergrowth in the tamaricso forest, I shooed a gigantic (and very pregnant) sow from my property. She ran back to the neighbor's property where she lived. The next morning, about 50 meters into the front row of trees, I encountered this little group which had been born during the night. I took this photo on day three of their existence, while mom was "grazing" in my backyard (it would not have been "wise" to get this close while she was with her babies):
