[background=transparent]Last January a UFO flew over my apt. I live on a top floor over by Constitucion. I have a clear unobstructed view of the North side of the city.
It was very warm. It was about 10:30 PM, I had the balcony door open when I saw a flash of bright light coming from outside. I walked over to the balcony, I though my downstairs neighbors
were taking flash pictures or perhaps something was happening in the street. But there was nobody outside, the street was deserted. I looked up & there it was.
A black triangle flying East to West. Completely silent. It had a diffused round light in the middle. It made the hairs on my arms stand on end.
It was very ominous & sinister. I tried to scream but nothing was coming out of my mouth. It scared the sh※t out of me. I started walking backwards into the apt. I almost knocked over a couple of plants.
The whole thing lasted about five seconds or less. if this isn't some sort of Area 51 project, I don't know what else it could be. I hope they make a return visit next month. I'll be on the lookout. [/background]

How much Johnnie Walker did johnnywalker ingest last january? (Say that 5 times fast)

I grew up in New Mexico (not far from Roswell) and saw all sorts of strange lights and a few strange objects in the sky. I generally believe that they are usually either purely natural (physical) phenomena, or are very complex psychological experiences similar to hallucinations. But on the other hand, these types of things ofter appear on radar, etc.

Evidently the black triangle is a common UFO shape:

Living near to Machrihanish when it was a US military base, i saw quite a few strange looking planes, I'm pretty sure i saw a B2 Bomber and probably a few other planes that needed a very long runway.

I was fishing in the middle of a loch on a boat when three of these fuckers came flying low following the loch probably on a training mission

now that was scary!

I can't really believe in this report because there was no discussion of the anal probe that is a requisite when a human makes a close encounter with a UFO. And since this happened last January why are you only posting now? Are you leaving out some details?

Now I know why nobody likes to publicly admit to seeing a UFO. Morons crawl out of the woodwork accusing you of being the anal probing / drunk guy.
I haven't had a drop of Scotch Whiskey in years. I'm thinking of changing my moniker,... people think I must be a lush. FYI. I drink mostly wine & beer in moderate amounts.
Now Does a B-52 or a B2 look like a triangle ?... NO. Does a B-52 or a B2 fly silently through the air ? ... NO. Does a B-52 or a B2 have a round circular light under it ? NO.
I think we can rule out the B2 or B-52 theory.
I'm only posting it now because I only joined the baexpats a few months ago & the one year anniversary of it is now.
The thing looked like something like this...

Do you really think we're alone in the Universe ??? Really ??? Do you really think we're the only "civilized" beings out there ?

The odds we are alone are infinitesimally small, considering how many stars are out there and how many planets we know are out there too.

What that life that is out there i don't know but i'm highly sceptical that they have visited us.

Then again i do have friends of friends who were at school in Zimbabwe when this happened.

I've always been interested in seeing ghosts or UFO's, but so far I've seen nothing remotely convincing. My sense of UFO's, just my gut feeling, is each sighting has a probability of falling into one of these categories, in order from the most probable to the least probable:

1, natural phenomenon or common technology mistaken for ufo's.
2. hoaxes created for attention, money, or entertainment
3. hallucinations.
4. advanced secret military technology
5. actual alien visitations

Obviously there must be other life in the universe, but why would they be so interested in us/our planet if their technology is so far advanced beyond ours that they can travel light years, especially considering that conceivably generations of travel time would be required to reach our little vacation spot called earth? (assuming that the speed of light indeed cannot be exceeded) And if they did come all that way, seems likely they would make contact, prime directive be damned! For this reason I consider #4 to be far more likely than #5.

I'd be delighted to have ET's instead of my latest company, RATS! Coming from the roof. Been here 6 years, no rats, and now seen 3 in 3 days, husband trapped one last night....sorry to digress!

Sorry to hear about the rodent invasion... You might consider getting a couple of cats, just the scent of them is enough to keep the away.
Fahrenheit ... where's you 451 !!! :D
