Uber Is Live In Ba

April '16 is NOT YET the right economic-political moment for Uber's launch in Bs As.which is not Madrid.
Creating " flak city" is not the most consumer friendly way to start building a new user base
Hard sell tactics do not sit well here as they do in other markets.
Why make so many unnecessary waves? Will they be restricted here too?
Time will tell if all this hassle was worth it for the local consumer as well as for Uber.

Still works. Just been all but impossible to get an über in the last couple days since was made free. The driver I talked to yesterday says its non stop rides for them.

I've all but given up on taking your until Thursday. I have noticed although maybe this is just an illusion, that there are more nice taxis. Sunday evening I hailed one of the street and it was a corolla with leather interior. That is a first for me in 6+ years of taxing taxis.

I told the taxi driver if there were more taxis like this one Uner wouldn't have a chance. I also asked him if he could pick me up every morning at the same time but unfortunately he didn't live close by and didn't know of anyone with a nice taxi who did.

RodolfoWalsh - thank you for clarifying today's status with Uber. When hearing the news this morning at 10.00am, I was quite surprised that the city authorities could be so quick and efficient in carrying out the court order to "disable the app". But what do I know....I'm technologically challenged to evaluate this type of action! TN newscaster failed to interpret correctly the notification from the Uber app. But I have noticed that some young newscasters, whether with TN, C5N, etc, seem to be in a hurry to be the first with a news flash which tends to cause these type of distortions.

Technically, it's close to impossible to effectively block an app without serious interventions in the internet. I'd doubt that a) the people would even have the required knowledge how to do it and B) the laws would allow such kind of censorship.

La Nacion reports that a prosecutor (fiscal) ordered phone companies and internet service providers to disable the Uber app while an investigation into Uber's taxi license (or lack thereof) is pending. Maybe it will take a while for the order to be fully implemented.

Who is TAXI in your posting an official Public Transportation?
What is the SAME amount of time /Average?
If the TAXI driver is at fault where do you take your claim?? Sue the Taxi owner/Driver
TAXIS may have individual policies!
If not happy you sue ?,,,,, B) Whom? you as individual? and sit and wait. Hire a Lawyer?

You generalities need more clarification!

Public service is a legal category in this country that means that it is highly regulated.

If you have an accident with UBER the insurance does not pay.
So, you have to sue the owner BUT illegality does not create rights. So...

And the Uber driver has to pay first the 80.000 fine.

If you have an accident with a legal taxi the company pays. Who's fault it was is not relevant. The insurance company can sue the other driver or can just loose.

I made a couple of car crash claima for relatives and the companies usually pay. If it is signed by a lawyer, they pay more.

So, for me it makes no sense to take so much risk for saving peanuts.

:It's slightly off topic but as a native New Yorker I'll tell you that taxi service may "suck " in your view because almost all cabbies in NYC are immigrants who for various and sundry reasons have few other employment choices and don't know the city very well..This could amount to exploitation or not but they freely accept the work.
In a dynamic economy like NYC's locals regardless of racial or educational backgrounds are usually able to secure better jobs. They do not "beg for tips". In New York at least 15% is expected for ANY type of service and if you don't leave it,they will ask for it. The same thing happened re: newspaper stands decades ago that's why Indians won the open bidding for this business there.
Most New Yorkers avoid taking cabs and choose public transportation instead very much like working porteños.

The problem there is that they finish their work all at the same time just at rush hour when you really need them.
