uh-oh us drivers license about to expire

Apologies in advance for the randomness of my thread. I´ve got a US Montana state issued DL that is about to expire, I guess re-taking the test whenever I go back home is not that big of a deal --just a royal pain in the #$%-- but my main concern is that I would no longer be able to drive in Buenos Aires. I´ve entered the country as a tourist therefore getting an Argentine driver’s license is not an option here right? What should I do? Has anyone here been through this particular situation?

Any feedback, tips, hints or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Ha. Most of the people I know (Argentines and non-Argentines) drive withOUT a license as it is too much of a pain to get here. Not that I'm recommending it. It's just novel to see someone following the rules in this regard.
